I keep wondering. Has someone done this?
A full inf squad takes pilot kits (for the parachute). Than a trans helo flying as high as possible takes them somewhere behind enemy lines. The squads jumps out, uses parachutes, lands safely, meanwhile trans helo drops a crate and goes away. Inf squad lands, takes the necessary kits from the crates and probably enjoys a good time (if they're not raped while waiting for to be able to request kits).

Yes this has been done before. On Yamalia and Silent Eagle infantry kits have parashoots, so there is no need for pilot kits in those two maps.
NOTE: On every other map this idea will probably end in the loss of tickets for both the helo and the inf.

I've done it many times on Silent and Yamalia.
Most of the time it failed epicly if the chopper wasnt staying still.
As the bodies would collide with teh chopper somehow.

Its **** honestly, since the view distance is huge on Yamalia and on Silent Eagle there is usually a ton of air asset rolling around wanting to kill you.
Its more tactically sound/smarter to get a chopper drop in or simply get a ride with an APC.

airborne insertions are possible but in general it's a damn waste of tickets and time.
You expose the chopper to APC and AA fire and expose yourself because ppl falling from the sky on a huge, dark cloth pieces are not invisible...

Well, in BF2, those large cloth pieces don't really render past about 200m.

And landing a helo takes precious more seconds than just flying-by... + the (unlikely) possibility of it landing in a mine... XDcyberzomby wrote:If the helo needs to go to there dropzone, why not drop the squad while your at it?
