i may be wrong but isn't the M16A2 the one with the holes in it with the 203?

That mount was originally designed for the M16A1 in the last days of Vietnam, and was carried onto the A2 model when it entered service :wink: .

New AK series was made mostly due to optimization, not incorrect outlook of previous.
