NOTE:I've used the search on the PR forums and BF2Editor forums, and Google. No luck. I may not haven't typed the right question/words.
It about when creating a new terrain in the "Create new terrain".

Re: [Question]Size, Scale, Level size.
This thread should be in the modding section. Anyway: The "size" is the number of pixels the heightmap has on each side, e.g. a map of size 512 is a 512x512 pixel sized heightmap. (The heightmap is a black-white picture describing the elevation in different shades of grey)
The scale is how many metres each pixel represents in the game.
So the levels real size is pixelsize*scale. And the result, is exactly what you got there!
The difference between does settings is how high resolution the map is. If you say want to make a 2x2km map. The best choice is 1024*1024 pixels with a scale of 2m as you will be able to detail the terrain more. If you had done the map in 512*512 and a scale of 4m it would be unnecessary hard to model the terrain.
I hope that's answer enough.

Locked as per OP's request.
