Kit with ammobag for insurgents

Post by Teh0 »

What you think? Why they could not carry ammo for their friends :? : I don't anymore remember when and why it was removed. Maybe rpg gunners would no longer tell where the cache is, but maybe those men who carry ammo from it. It also supports teamwork. That would also degrease blufor kit use if they can use their own.

I believe it was removed to centralize action around the caches in insurgency. That works well, as most RPG action takes place close to the caches now. However, it often takes place too close, often inside of the cache building itself, easily hinting the cache location to BLUFOR.

I could argue that the ammo bag needs to be added in order to let more action take place away from the caches and keep the caches from being discovered so easily, but that would go against the previous point for removing them. Additionally, there are ammo techies on many (if not all) INS maps which can place ammo boxes at places to be used for ambushes.

What's more, the people that are competent enough to throw an ammo bag down away from the cache and combine that with an RPG for more ammo are probably also the people that recognize the need to stay away from caches with RPGs.

+1

It is a royal pain in the arse to walk all the way back to the damn cache every time you need ammo. Which kit would you put it in though? I would say give it to the rifleman with the AK-47 so only one loadout has it (to make it sorta scarce).

Honestly this is a good idea, and I doubt it would keep people off of the caches as some people are smart enough to know that defending the objective is critical. The only question is, what kit to give it to. A simple breadbag with some magazines etc. poking out would be great, very atmospheric compared to the BLUFOR ammobag which is pretty plain.

Even then it might not be needed as hopefully in the next version ammo technicals respawn and have their physics fixed.

This makes sense.

However, at this moment in time I wouldn't change it for ammo in kit selection. Insurgents are often spread out and no-where near cache locations as it is. When Insurgent game play gets better and more team orientated then I would like this suggestion.
