Heres the fix make the windows not bullet proof and make it a little more like the suppy truck/logi truck.
I think that then people would start to get smart with the gary instead of running to the tank wait behind a house and wait for it to go by or maybe even sneaking with the gary even i have been playing around with that and it works.
I dont like devs.... they dont like me :p

Please stop nerfing the insurgents....Gary is really the only thing INS have to really take out the tank, save for mines.
But really, Gary is best used for well populated FOBs. Took out half the team one time, lol.

Also, I have seen APCs and tanks totally survive a Gary bomb. They just rolled away, smoking a little bit.

I say make the driver be able to crouch inside, and let the glass be penetrable.

That way everybody is happy and it feels alot more realistic. Same for the civilian bomb cars. IT feels totally unreal to just run into enemy fire head up real high waiting to catch one of the 200 5.56 being throw at you.

If you could simply crouch without being able to see were you rolling into, now that would feel alot more realistic. Perhaps leave a small hitbox when crouched for the snipers to hit.

Well, could you make bombcar and gary "tracked" If someone hits them to engine whit 50.cal? They would be unable to move but not to blow up.

I like this idea, crouching behind the dashboard while bullets fly into my chairs sounds awesome lol :p

If the Tank/APC crews can't stop one of the few real threats they have on any insurgency map then go infantry. I can't believe this thread has so much momentum, you're complaining about a vehicle that has to drive STRAIGHT towards the Tank/APC in order to be used.

Basically the Gary stands little to no chance if the Tank/APC crews have any tactical sense. I've only had on APC loss to a Gary, and it was because we got too close to other armor.

Using Gary, or any Bomb Car for that matter can be rather difficult and often yields no results except 1 dead insurgent. Nerfing one of the hardest weapons to use makes no sense, why do we have to keep giving BluFor more chances? If anything I think bomb cars could use a little more armor, Gary is fairly balanced towards giving the driver a chance to actually get his targets in the blast radius, as opposed to being balanced towards giving the opposition an easier time stopping it.

Yeah, well this mod is about realistic gameplay. In real life dumpster truck cant take thath much fire. And you dont have to drive to the tank/apc from front. Heres how use bombcars/garys:
Wait until APC/tank comes close to city and drive to them from cover
Hit them from behind
And lastly, use distraction! I mean civi cars coming to APC from front while you come from back.

my view on Gary is

the thing with Gary is you can here it inside the tank from across the map so you know its coming

its SOOOOOO big

and its horribly slow


just remove Gary and add in like 2 bomb cars in its place....


bomb cars = WIN

small - easy to hide

fast - hard to hit

and cooler than Gary

I like Gary, You just have to have a sense of where your route is going to take you to.
I personally hate bomb cars (and the rest of the civie cars) because I can't make them out as bomb cars or just regular cars.

Well that is, in case, the problem the soldiers have in reallife.
No suicide bomber writes on his car "bomb car" so everyone knows.
my opinion: remove gary and spawn more bomb cars instead, it is more realistic!

It does seem to take alot of damage, but on the other hand it gets shot at alot, so it shouldnt be too weak.

Go to about 1:44 thats when our run starts, you will see the lead gary takes alot of fire direct in the cab. I would think that it should take less damage to track it.

Takes 2 tank / TOW rounds for Gary to blow up.


It's a little odd that a dump truck can take more punishment then a tank can ;)

The round probably went cleanly through the sides on all your first shots...due to protection of Allah.

thats the point

rush 6 civi cars at the tank and he is out of luck in less he picks the right car, then the 2nd one gets him

lol thats funny because a tank takes 2 tank rounds or 2 tows to kill. so in fact it does NOT take more damage than a tank.

They just have too much pride to fled away from the gary, they shouldn't attack the gary with an APC or something, just let the guy kill himself!
