Graphics Problem

Post by Salraine_Chi »

I fixed my connection problem and now Im in game I have some strange graphics problems. Flickering black textures on buildings that appear and disappear depending on distance and textures that come off objects going off in the distance. The ferris wheel on Iron Ridge is a mess with flashing moving textures coming off the cars. Same problem with vehicles.

I have a new machine: i7 920, 6 Gig of RAM, GTX 480.

I have tried reinstalling the latest graphics drivers. It only happens in PR/BF2/BF2142. Any one else having this problem and know of a fix?

Hmm I have the same GPU and no problems, so its probably not a driver issue, but I had those "artifacts" on my old Laptop. IDK but usually it has something to do with the temperature, and the 480 gets really hot. Try to check that, maybe your fan isn't good enough?!?! Just throwing something out.

Delete your cache folder under My Documents and see if that sorts it out.

Thanks for the replies. Tried deleting the cache folder and that didnt work. My card is water cooled and runs at around 35 deg C under load so heat doesnt seen to be a problem. Arma2 runs fine and is a lot more demanding than BF2.

I think your graphics card isn't powerful enough to handle that game. I used to have that same problem when i was playing titan quest. I had all strange colors, then i updated my graphics card then it all worked out fine.

I had a desktop though...i dont think you can change the graphics card in a laptop.
