Why Mumble is needed.

Post by BreepZz »

Google traduction because I made the text in french but not twice in two languages...

-TS or VOIP PLUS Mumble nedeed. Mumble is used when necessary! They do not tell me: "Yeah but when my SL is more than 20 m I do not expect more ...."
-It is true that Mumble is a software nasa seeking a degree from Harvard ... No harder than TS.
-You can not hear the enemy with 2 channels! Less realistic? No, because it will be for a team total stranger (eg match).

-ALL the medics you are effectively and laugh as you're not in the same squad.
-A death-medic can point to a squad or a man without his medic kit is there.
-Com direct the APCs to transport or potential targets (key = still = death or loss of time).
-One guy without his squad can be done all at one go with that just joined because you talk to! Without mumble it's very very boring to lose his squad and walk with blue man....
-The exchange of vehicles between squads is direct and no keyboard (keyboard = still = death or loss of time).
-A support group can speak together without interfering with the strike group by excessive community very distressing.
-The squads are much more competent as they tend to communicate new plans to deal with new situations and real-time face-to-face (eg you defend, you attack). Squads/players want to be together and not alone in the map...
-Com direct positions between soldiers. Practice as a humvee gunner of finding himself without his squad.
-All demand whatsoever of ammunition etc. no longer pose the problem of Russian etc language and so on. Before when a russian soldier ask me for mun I do not even know. Non-existent problem for those who play all the voices in english or else, a reminder: By doing this you do not hear the enemy voices behind walls etc..
-No one is precisely identified with a "I need ammo" or "thanks" screamed very loud like a assh....
-Immersion, amusement and realism altogether.

All these advantages are gathered win 50 tickets and 20 minutes of play (if the enemy team isucks or less mumblers) to switch to another map.

That's funny (aha :D )

Anyway, you made good points. But posting endlessly on the forums saying how good or how important Mumble is won't do any good!

It is MUCH more worth it (and perhaps even faster!) if you just tell the people in your squad how to get it, download it and how to use it! Try it! Odds are you'll get at least 1 person to use mumble if you do that in-game, and here won't have nearly as much success.

Also, you can go ahead and argument how useful Mumble is... but then just get to another squad and start running around and "Mumble-ing" together, it is very fun, and very convincing!

Trust me!

P.S. Yeah apparently Google Translator will need some time to develop and achieve the greatness it wants...
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

Yes I know ;) But I tried this and it didn't work without real arguments and full mumble servers... Maybe with some arguments some people will see that's a really good program. 0.95!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still don't like Mumble at all.

Maybe if it actually worked I could think about liking it. but I doubt it.

Infact, in my stubborn rebellion I have stopped using a server that has a mumble night lol

It works fine?

I can never see any reason for not using it....

Give me Three Half Decent reasons for not using it.

Three Good Reasons why you should use it:
  1. It enables you to be able to talk to the blue guys near you, so if you're running with another squad you can still talk to them & tell them about the enemies at 285 without telling the whole team, and probably be ignored.
  2. It allows your squad to actually split up into smaller groups without the VoiP Getting confusing, like if you're in a tank you can talk to your gunner & only your gunner (or driver) rather than all the tanks in your squad.
  3. Between rounds it lets you have a natter with the other people in the server ratehr than sitting there staring at a loading screen.
I could go on but there's not much point. If you don't use Mumble then I doubt you're a particularly good team player... If you can't get it to work then you should really go see a doctor, it's incredibly simple. I Expect better from my Notts Manz.

I gave a lot of valid reasons in the other thread but remember this is software and a not physical item. Therefore, what works for you on your system isn't going to work exactly the same for me on my system. Especially if we have a different OS. Yes, it looks all so simple and it is more so than it used to be. However, there's no output whenever I'm trying to talk on mumble.

I will ignore the, "If you don't use Mumble then I doubt you're a particularly good team player".

What I believe you meant to say is, "If you don't use mumble it won't be as easy for you to help other players that are using mumble".

Personally some of that takes out the immersion for me. Speaking to dead people, finding wounded people on Mumble when you're a medic. Not that I don't do it myself.

I am however very pro-Mumble and I think it's a great tool for more smooth team and squad communication in many regards. I have never had any kind of technical difficulties with it.
