PR and Steam

Post by ...mitch... »

Hey guys...this mod caught my attention back when i used to play BF2...then just recently on the games.on.net site. I was just wondering if PR .95 will be compatible if i was to get the battlefield 2 collection from steam (goes for around $15), or will it only work with the disc versions? Also, do i have to get all expansion packs or only the original?

Thanks guys

ONLY get the original. The current patch lets you download two of the three packs for free. I'm not sure on how the Steam version works, but I say go with the original disc version if you can find it.

The Steam version will work, but I hear it takes a bit more work.

Regular BF2 is fine, the booster packs are included in one of the patches, (1.41? you need 1.41 and 1.5) anyways.

It's 1.5 that includes Armoured Fury and Special Forces.

I expect Steam versions will work fine, you'll just need a different install directory (Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\Common), I would expect.
A journalist, interviewing a US marines sniper, asked what he felt when he shot a terrorist.

The sniper shrugged, and replied. "Recoil."

Euro Forces, not special forces. Those remain an add on that one can buy.

Anything special I should think about before installing PR 0.95 via BF2 on Steam?

Steam is fine but some people must disable the Steam overlay then restart Steam before playing as Punkbuster will kick you.

^This is the only thing you need to worry about. Forget about the patches as Steam will update for you.
