Would be interesting to have blockade / ambushes setup by the insurgents with .50 cals.

Maybe just 1-2 however, and not 2 each hideout ^_^

I like the idea if it is very limited... 1 or 2 per map... and not with zoom. IRL I have heard stories that Taliban will actually risk their lives for the DShk Machine guns because there is so few of them around.

sounds awesome! maybe some less conventional cover for them too, like the mortars

I'd like to see this, because it seems like that would be a nice alternative to having to have a guy with an AK or PKM by you when you make a Hideout with an SPG-9 or Mortar position.

Maybe it could be a PKM on a tripod or something? On a little mound of dirt like the SPG-9?

A tripod mounted DshK would make the most sense, there are numerous pictures and Apache-FLIR videos of Taliban either manning or cleaning them, and one per fire base would be relatively balanced.

For the Insurgents, it seems a bit to conventional for them to have such a large caliber weapon that is operable.

I don't think it would be particularly appropriate for insurgents, as they're much more of an urban force that relies on speed and hit and run tactics, and as far as I know it isn't common for them to lug around HMGs (except perhaps during the various battles for fallujah and some other more set-piece battles).

However, I think a tripod-mounter DshK is a pretty reasonable suggestion for the Taliban, would be a good chopper counter

My preference is: Two available DShKM HMG emplacements for the first two lucky Insurgent squads (this will be a rush to get it in the first few weeks/days it's available, but will eventually evolve into 'ok, who has the best position for a DShKM?'. After this, you can have a PKMS MMG on a Tripod mount. This will have minimal cover, but will have great firepower, as it's basically a PKM turret mount, only on a tripod.

EDIT: Oh yeah Redamare that looks totally badass. My idea was either 2 of those or 2 slightly sandbagged emplacements.

I quite like this idea, particularly with Terry Taliban - here's a first-hand account of their use out of Sangin.

How about making them turnable, like the SPGs.

Another choice would be to make them on the same stand or on a similar stand like that of the techie 50 cal. They could be used as AA, fully rotable and with a restricted negative elevation. Anyways, if there are any 50 cals, there would not be any need of protection or sandbags.

considering insurgents are more defensive oriented, because they have to defend caches, I think a deployable HMG for them would be great. It would make an awesome defence against incoming Hummers and whatnot.

Maybe more limited... Like 1 or 2 per map. I would imagine a DShKM is hard to get for insurgents.

Maybe for insurgents, but not for taliban.
P.s in some videos Apache spot some HMGs like DShK,and spot a GAZ66 with ZPU-4 on board.Anyway -why thats so hard? You can find DShK on mostly Middle-East countries.
