Crashing when laoding map. Running out of RAM?/Fixed

Post by Christian92 »

Hello everyone

I already read the thread about the guy who ran out of RAM, because he was limited to 2gb

When I load a map and my RAM exceed 2,4Gb of RAM, the game crashes. It happens on all big maps, like Silent Eagle, Battle for Qinling etc.

When Im not running the game, I use about 700mb of RAM. I got 4gb installed but only 3,2 used due to 32bit version. It means i still got 2600mb left to run PR. But it crashed everytime without using all of the availibe RAM.

I dont know why its doing this. I never had the problem on XP. I got decent hardware, and I refuse to play a game from 2004 on anything else then High

it works fine when I put textures on middle, but there must be another way to fix this. I guess there are hundreds of players out there who run this game on a 32bit system with all settings on high, and i really would like to know why it works for them and not for me

PS: I deinstalled, reinstalled Bf2 and PR about five times, and even reinstalled Windows today, so thank you in advance for not asking me to reinstall anything

You could bump up your Virtual ram/page file ( 1.5x real ram is good)
1 gig = 1024,4 gigs=4096. 4096x 1.5=6144. Set min and max the same.
Have you tried a 3rd party app like 'Game booster' to turn off unneeded apps and services?

I play on TeamPlayersGaming where it's all about the teamwork.

I increased my Vram to about 6gb, and when I shut down all not needed apps I get about 50mb Free RAM when playing.

So Id say its fixed :) Thank you
