My tft starts only with the help of a hairdryer

Post by Cassius »

yes I am sober. My tft took longer to start up at first and now it only starts if I warm it up with a hairdryer. This sucks. Once its up and running it operates normally and if I turn it off briefly it starts right up again. What is broken and how can I fix it?

Buy a new one or send it in if there is still guarantee.

Mine did the same until it didn't even start after 5 minutes of warming up.

Whats getting me riled up is that I am suspecting that most tfts fail by design after 2 or 3 years. I think they made the elkos on the powersupply the way they fail anytime shortly after your warranty is up. I think its a safe bet that your tft will have the same problem anyway from a couple of months to a year or 2 after your warranty is up, given the ammount of people on the interwebs with exactly the same problem.

i used to run a TFT which had been my parents until it broke (there was no visual output from the tv only audio and eventually all the connections stopped producing visuals which was very odd)
