xbox headset issues
Well for some reason PR has randomly started working online(I'm not complaining
) so I decided to see if I could get my mic working since I've heard from other people that it can be crucial. Trouble is, the only mic I've got is an xbox 360 mic which connects to the computer through the xbox USB gaming controller. This would be fine under normal circumstances but all the sound goes through to the crappy speaker inside the headset, instead of just the voice going through to headset and ingame noise going through speakers. Is there any way to fix this? I'm willing to buy a new headset if neccessary, I'd just prefer to keep costs down as much as possible atm.

Re: xbox headset issues
I see you live in the UK. Im no expert on the xbox controler but at your local PC world or even tesco you can pick up a desktop mic for less than ?10. I have small children and the voip in PR and other games i play can be a bit adult at times so I use a full headset with mic cost me ?20.
You could try looking in your sound setting to set your sound card with the speakers as the out put. The xbox as the mic. With it being connected via usb your PC may of just defaulted to the xbox controller.

Re: xbox headset issues
BF2 uses the "Default audio device".
Since it is using the USB controller I am assuming this has probably at some point in time taken over "Default" status.
Changing the default playback device to your speakers should work:
Go for a headset please.

Changing the default playback device to your speakers should work:
- Right click the speaker icon in the tray.
- Select "Playback devices".
- Right click your speakers (usually "Speakers")
- Select "Set as Default Device" (if it already is the default device this option will be missing)
Go for a headset please.
Got a PROBLEM? Check this: PR:BF2 Installation Guide
