Dual Screen mouse escaping focused window / See through ground
Ok so the most frustrating and game breaking issue of any game I have played has to be this
When playing PR I use 2 monitors with an extended desktop (not clone, or stretched view) When playing PR if im running around as a solider and spin to far to the right my mouse then hops onto the other screen, and then when I try to shoot or do any clicking it minimizes the game. For some reason its not keeping the game in focus and it does this constantly. The window is maximized as well.
Second issue is (Running a 5870 Cata 10.9) The ground goes transparent?
Any help regarding either of these issues is greatly appreciated!

Re: Dual Screen mouse escaping focused window / See through ground
iv got a dual monitor setup and i dont have this problem try checking the new ati drivers for configurations on mouse pointers, and 10.9 is very bad, my advice is to revert to 10.4 until 11.0 is out.
im using a 4870x2,
also what OS r u using? , and try to search for a program to disable the desktop mouse while running fullscreen, maybe u'll find smthg that is specific to your problem.
i'm using ULTRAmon , its possible that its the one preventing problems with my dual setup monitors

Windows 7 x64, and we are also using a generation gap of cards
I hear people say 10.1-.10.9 are bad drivers, but they all cant be bad, and other than this issues they work. I dont see how they are bad also like I said im using 5xxx you are using 4xxx it makes a huge difference in how they behave

Re: Dual Screen mouse escaping focused window / See through ground
dude it took me 2 seconds in google "MouseTrap is a free to use program which allows to lock the cursor only on one monitor in dual or multi monitor setup."
edit: i wouldv preferred not to have spoon fed you the solution so u could learn to fix ur problems on your own, and regarding the driver either revert or lower all detail to medium or low, one of the two should fix ur problem. (don't count on PR to fix the bugs regarding graphics theyv been trying for a long time [its low priority]"

Re: Dual Screen mouse escaping focused window / See through ground
I appreciate the help, but the manor you delivered it in was complete ****. I have been looking for days on how to fix this issue with out the use of addons since others using the same OS are NOT having issues then I started to look at 3rd party apps today in order to fix it I tried MouseJail which didnt work so im not planning on this to work either. I posted to request help in more of an official means since it only does this with PR it may be an over looked bug with a specific setup.CBT02 wrote:dude it took me 2 seconds in google "MouseTrap is a free to use program which allows to lock the cursor only on one monitor in dual or multi monitor setup."

Also somehow my compatibility mode got turned off which was causing the ground to become see through so it will allow the use of High as long as XP SP 3 is used.
Just don't assume people don't try to fix their problems in the future, and if it annoys you so much then don't stalk the tech support forums.
As for the issue at hand I'm still looking for a real fix for this weird issue of the mouse not staying with the focused screen in PR. (The exact reason I didn't post the Mouse Jail because I wanted a more real fix than downloading an app so please if you know how to fix it, or how to repair it with out a 3rd party app please post!) As for now I will try the Mouse trap as a temp fix

Re: Dual Screen mouse escaping focused window / See through ground
i apologize if i appeared aggressive in my last post as it was definitely not my intention, it wouldv been better to post ur findings in your first post (to clear the process and help get a more compatible solution).
PR wont look into specific setups since there are 100s of them, but i suggest either play around with different drivers (since they are what control GUI) or possible try changing resolutions that could be a workaround if all 3rd party apps dont work for u.
anyway, i'm gona look into it ... i'll post what i can get

Please elaborate.xxproto21xx wrote:it only does this with PR
Have you tried vBF2 or other BF2 mods and those did not have problems? Because if it is a vBF2 issue there is hardly anything the devs can do.
The advice to try different driver versions is a thing you should really consider.
Are you using any special mouse software? Maybe that driver causes issues?
Got a PROBLEM? Check this: PR:BF2 Installation Guide
Got a common QUESTION? check here first: PR:BF2 FAQ, MUMBLE FAQ

It does not do this in vBF2. It has been doing it only in PR.[R-COM]SnipingCoward wrote:Please elaborate.

It sometimes fixes its self when W7 freaks out and changes the color scheme, and sometimes not.
Though tonight no matter how many restarts it just refuses to keep PR as the focus. Its 100% consistent on any menu that has a mouse cursor to do actions even if it does keep focus (when it rarely manages to) when using reticule commands/ sight. So turning left and right sometimes does work, but its very random when, but every time there is a mouse cursor i can drag the mouse off the screen.
I hope thats clear enough? It's so hard to explain because it is such a weird problem

Re: Dual Screen mouse escaping focused window / See through ground
I had to do that, disable xfire in game support, and disable windows ability to change the color scheme, AND reinstall the game now it keeps focus only after I get in the game and get into first person so if i click off the screen before that it will lose focus and have to be restarted. I have tested this to be true 3 timesCBT02 wrote:try disabling windows aero, and switch to classic.
Honestly this is the weirdest bug in any game i have even encountered. I'm just curious why it only does it in PR and not vBF2?

Re: Dual Screen mouse escaping focused window / See through ground
the last description of events are normal, iv had that in many many games. since we know its the color scheme thats causing the problem try searching for that specifically and find out what could make it behave as such.
EDIT: i just remembered !! i had the same exact problem in generals zero:hour and my mouse wouldn't turn left (second screen) and instead go out of the game and when i clicked would minimize the process, how i fixed it u ask? ....i turned off my second monitor when i played that game. lol
Occam's razor: the simplest solution is usually the correct one.

Re: Dual Screen mouse escaping focused window / See through ground
Yeah lol I was doing that too, but hate to do that since I general have other things going on like vent open and MSN and other things up no joke If I follow what I said in the post before to the T it works. Just to me its an odd set of events that have to work correctly lolCBT02 wrote:the last description of events are normal, iv had that in many many games. since we know its the color scheme thats causing the problem try searching for that specifically and find out what could make it behave as such.

Re: Dual Screen mouse escaping focused window / See through ground
I had the mouse running off the screen when I first installed Win7. In the screen resultion menu I just checked the box for "make this my main monitor" or something similar to that. instantly fixed it. I do not run 2 monitors for the PC though. I have the 2nd monitor fed to the TV as HDMI for movies etc.
Best line yet...

Re: Dual Screen mouse escaping focused window / See through ground
you probably had the (extended monitor) box ticked, which causes the mouse the get out of the screen and stuck on a non existent second monitor, its not the same problem he's experiencing in his setup.SnipeHunt wrote:I had the mouse running off the screen when I first installed Win7. Re: Dual Screen mouse escaping focused window / See through ground
nope. I had it set to show desktop only on 1, but it was not set as as my main monitor.
The mouse did not get stuck outside the first monitor it would just slide out and back past the right side of the monitor.

Re: Dual Screen mouse escaping focused window / See through ground
It seems you permanently disabled those windows features. There might be an alternative: In on the compatibility tab for PR you can select "Disable visual themes" and "Disable desktop compositions". This way it automatically changes to the settings you need without you having to disable it permanently.xxproto21xx wrote:I had to do that, disable xfire in game support, and disable windows ability to change the color scheme
BTW: I am glad you figured it out. It is probably related to the custom menu PR uses - maybe it wouldn't be too bad to file it as a bug report.

Re: Dual Screen mouse escaping focused window / See through ground
I also have 2 monitors, win7 x64, radeon 4850, and I don`t have a problem with the mouse.
But I have a problem with ground textures which become blank.
My solution: turn off monitor no.2, get into game, load map, alt tab and extend no.2 monitor. Game will run smoothly and when they load another map it should be fine also.
So the problem is only when you starting the game.
I asume that when you starting the game auto adjustment and game preload messed something up. Thats just my opinion.
