idea for harrier nozzles

Post by Logue »

i was wondering would it be possible to be able to control the jet nozzles for the harriers. i was thinking if there were still keys for the ramp doors in bf2 then they could be applied to the nozzles for up and down.

also reguarding the feb update the raf don't use av-8b's they use Gr7's, which that model looks like, if im wrong i'm sure the devs will smite me down. :D

Update as been corrected; AV-8B and GR7 have a common airframe. The difference is that all GR7 and most recent AV-8B II+ aircraft have two additional launch rails in front of the outrigger gear for Sidewinder/ASRAAM. :)

i always thought that the av-8b was more similar to the fa2 sea harrier due to the bulb nose also the gr7 has 8 hard points and the av-8b has 6 and the sea harrier fa2 has 4

anyway do you think my idea would be possible? any thoughts?

That's because of the radar; the FA2 is actually based on the older Harrier I airframe, which is why they're phasing it out. The older AV8B Harrier IIs are listed as 6 because they lack the two afforementioned Sidewinder rails in front of the outrigger landing gear. The GR7 and the newest Harrier II+ aircraft have them.

Well, I'm not a coder, so I couldn't tell you if it's possible; I do know that the operate-open/close buttons have returned. However, I think the V/STOL variant of the F35 Joint Strike Fighter may be in BF2; we'll have to see how they worked their controls for it.

i wasn't saying use those specific keys but having something similar to the ramp door up down for the nozzles, but as pointed out there may already be something in the game for that ugly looking lump of **** called the jsf  .

the way it was in dc was simple just throttle reverse in the harrier and you go verticle all you really need for the harrier is forward and hover

I don't see what was wrong with the system in DC. If in fact something like this could be done I'd rather see it where you can actualy control the landing gear. Just a bit more thinking to do when you're flying, and thinking never hurts. Besides, who wouldn't laugh at a noob that forgot to put the gear down and slammed into the runway.
