After installing 0.95 and attempting to start the game the screen goes black (like it should) and then returns to the desktop. After about 5 seconds I get a "java.exe is not responding and needs to close, we are sorry for the inconvenience." window. So I tried it on vanilla BF2 and it is having the same problem.
Would really appreciate some help on this; this is the first time that it has done this in the 4 years I have played BF2.

Re: BF2/PR java.exe crash
Considering pr.exe has nothing to do with Java that is indeed an odd error message !

Well, after digging around the internet some I did find out that Java is used in BF2. Apparently it is used in tracking account stats and used in some menu items. (being as you are a developer you could tell me if it's used in the menus.) However it seems that there is no program or fix for this, it seems to be a rare problem; there was something about the texture and server logo caches getting too large and using a cleaner. (Battlecleaner v2.0 off of filefront.com) This did not work though.

Re: BF2/PR java.exe crash
Hi guys
I can connect without any problems. During the game, it freezes with a crash to desktop.
I played Kokan for about 1 hour without any problems.
Iron Eagle:
After a time the game freezes with a crash to desktop. Played the map for about 25 minutes until it happend. After rejoining it crashed back to desktop after 5 minutes. So it doesnt happen at a certain time.
Laskar Valley:
Game crashed back to desktop after about 50 minutes.
The previous pr version worked without any problems.
Think the Devs will try to fix it.

Couldn't tell you but you may get a little farther if you post you're own thread in the BF2 support section (the one you're in now.) or in the bugs section.
