In any case Don't be an asshat and create the impression that PR players are a bunch of griefing 5 year olds, especially when you have options available to you such as 1) leaving the squad 2) starting your own squad 3) volunteering to lead the squad you're in.

I highly doubt griefing a person can effectively communicates to them why they should go out and pick up a mic to enjoy PR how it was meant to be played.
Fair point.

Also, remember that people may not be using in-game or mumble comms, personally me and my friends use Ventrilo just because we always have and it's much better quality than the in-game comms quality.

Also some people end up inheriting a squad if the leader creates and leaves, others just make squads so that people can get kits - sometimes people simply "cba" with teamwork.

Apart from you choose to go after him, he doesnt choose to go after you.

I sometimes run in a squad without using my mic for the plain fact i dont tend to talk much anyway usually or if i am doing something with my clanmates on teamspeak or if i am in a server that doesnt allow "locked squads" generally they will leave for other squads (i aint that much of a social person).

What you are doing is sad mate, i would rather anyone to you because people like you ruin games for others instead of going off and doing your own thing. Seriously, the squad leader doesnt have a mic so you are going to make it hell for him playing and others in the squad? Thats childish, go make your own squad or join another squad instead(seriously, singing into the mic is 1 of the most damn annoying things i can think of a guy doing and honestly if i was a server admin and saw a guy delib harassing a guy like you suggest i would just say "bye" and they are gone).

Also, i get the whole "to poor to own a mic" i am lucky, my dad buys me a fair chunk of stuff i need so i can afford to buy a mic myself, others are not that lucky and buying a quality mic could cost so much they cant eat for a day or have to really cut things tight.

I dont care if you got a mic or not, i care if you are a smacktard though.

Also "how its meant to be played" thats not for you to say how they should play, if they follow the rules of the server then they are not at fault, they could be playing an having nice fun as they are, not to forget alot of people dont want to use a mic, say people with high pitch voices dont(i know a few) or the women of the community(i knew a fair few in the past who didnt use mic comms on other "voice games" because they didnt want that **** you all know i am on about).

Cost - I will only be using it maybe 3 times per month, not an incitement enough

Also, I'm living with my family and I don't like talking to "nobody" with my parents around. It feels weird.
Yeah, same here, I have mic but I use it very rarely, cause of my parents, They find it kinda weird me talking to the computer.

mitchverr - lets not resort to calling people smacktards or sad people because that is sad and very childish . All I am saying is I don't see the point in being a squad leader without a mic. Jezz, some of you guys take everything far to seriously. I guess I'll just take the advise and disconnect from the server because someone doesn't want to talk when they squad lead, it makes a lot of sense so thanks for that advise.

jackcr wrote:I have to say it really annoys me when I join a sqaud and the team leader has no mic. Infact it annoys me when there is someone in the team who has no mic. What I will do if I find the squad leader has no mic, is I start to belt out a song in the hopes that he will get sick and leave the squad, or if he mutes me I chase him around and stand infront of his weapons sights.

I know it's a bit imature of me to do this, but come on how much are mics now? This game is about team play and you have to communicate in this game.

A bit Immature?????
Talk about a lot....A mic IS NOT a requirement for PR....is the players choice....runiing in front of his weapon, singing and chasing him down would get you kicked from any squad, and possiblr kicked for asshatting....

Grow up buddy, Mics get broken, VOIP couldn't be working and hell, sometimes people don't wanna use a mic, like me for example....if im in a bad mood I do not like to talk just play....Squad leading is fun, or its the only thing to do when all squads are full or locked....

Jesus grow up people like you make me sick, pure sick....

I seriously hope your embarrassed by posting this thread, I sure as hell would be

[R-Dev]EvilHomer squad leads all the time without a Mic. See how long you would last griefing him. I For see a ban from popular servers in your future. No self respecting server would put up with your ****.

I mostly kick people who don't have a microphone. Mostly due to communication lack. No offense to people who play without a mic , ofcourse there are some really good players without mics. I just enforce this rule because comms are a must in my squad.

This
exactly what I would do if I owned a server.

I hope he is happy setting his name out there LOL

Crossing the line of fire is dangerous, stupid, and if something happens, you're the one to blame.
Singing decreases the situational awareness of the squad - if the squad wants you to stfu, you should do it or leave the squad, otherwise you endanger it.

Squads without voip aren't too useful most of the time, but if they get the job done, that's fine with me.

Annoying people is exactly what gets you called an asshat. Stop being one if you don't want to be called one.

Some of you take things far to serious because I neither sing or chase him around. It's just my way of saying just how much it annoys me with a small joke added. Unfortunatly a lot of people here take things far to serious to have a joke with. But you are right about one thing and it's what I normally do, it's to join another squad if the sqaddy doesn't have a mic.

Why say it if you don't mean it? That wasn't funny, and noone understood it as a joke...

Of course I take it serious when someone says something in a serious way. If I wouldn't, that'd be pretty chaotic.

Sorry you didn't get the joke, but can you really imagine someone going to the lenghts to sing to get rid of someone?

I have even changed my first post so that other people don't take it to seriously :-? Jezz what ever happened to having a laugh.

I've seen micless squads perform better than squads with mics. Having mics, and all the associated trivial babble, often just distracts from the relevant tasks and reduces battlefield awareness.

Words of advice for the future, jackr: Sarcasm and humor don't translate well over the internet, especially when the sender and the receivers have different thinking frequencies.

Just keep that in mind.

Yes I hear you although there wasn't any sarcasm in any of my posts. Just finding a way to get it locked now.

I used to not have a working mic for the longest time. Just learn to type extremely fast ;)

The reason why it isn't appreciated here and people can't take a joke and are serious, is because in PR's history, there HAS been people who sing in the mic and grief the way you joked about. That is why we don't joke about that kind of thing here...
