[0957] No chevron above the compass
I don't know if it is a bug, but I see no chevron above the compass when my SL sets a marker...
I played with differents squads today, some people report that chevron is there, some say that they also don't see it.
Where is the problem?

Well, for one, it only shows when something is marked beyond 125m from your position.

Make sure tr.exe is running or that it isn't blocked by your firewall.

Firewall is off
I'm on Win7 x64 if it matters
How do I make tr.exe to run? I suppose it should run automatically...

I had the chevron disappear on me one round, but it came back after I died and respawned.

this may sound silly but if your not seeing the cheveron or it disappears some times try hitting alt (default key to show/hide 3d markers), iv managed to hit the alt key with out realising a fair few times then ended up wondering why i cant see 3d markers on a few occasions.

Did you try pressing the Alt key?
That disables the marker and icon above the SL...

Also - I tried to run the tr.exe (being alt-tabbed from PR) - it starts and then immediately closes...
UPDATE: I noticed, that when I start PR, tr.exe is also starting... but after 1 second it closes.
Please help!!!

Do you have any anti-virus that might be closing it or something?

Re: [0957] No chevron above the compass
the 3d chevron was removed to make game play more realistic. notice how none of the grenadier lost the 3d hud as well? You can only see the 3d marker if you are less than 125m from it, and you had your alt button configured one way of the other.
Instead, there is not a bearing indicator on your compass that appears when a SL drops a marker that gives you a direction to look, but not exact placement, height, or range. To do that you have to open your map.

Re: [0957] No chevron above the compass
I don't mean to get off content, just didn't feel it deserved a new thread...my friend's chevron takes about 2 full seconds until it will show up (when looking in the direction) he can be looking to the left of the marker, and see the chevron to the right, so he'll look right, it'll disappear (if he doesn't keep his view that direction) and reappear as soon as it's out of his view again, to the left. He has the CD version, and if you need more info I can ask him, just felt like I should let someone here know.

No antivirus software is installed.[R-DEV]dbzao wrote:Do you have any anti-virus that might be closing it or something?
I turned off the firewall also
CD or DVD (don't remember, but I have a disc). patched up to v1.5[R-DEV]Mosquill wrote:What kind of BF2 are you using? CD, Steam or EADM?
System:
Intel E6700
Nvidia GeForce 260 GTX
4Gb RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Somewhere in here I've read that tr.exe requires .net 3.5.1 to run (and this .net should be installed automatically during the PR installation)...
But nevertheless I downloaded .net 4 from Microsoft and installed it... Nothing changed.
I also tried to run it as administrator, or in compatibility modes... Even tried to change the owner of BF2 folder...
Still.. it starts and after a second or 2 closes.. ;(
2 Devs: As far as I understand, if everything is OK, then tr.exe should appear in task manager when I run PR?
Today will try some more things to make it running...

Re: [0957] No chevron above the compass
Can anyone post a screenshot with a chevron on it?
UPDATE:
from the changelog:
# Added 2D indicator to Compass which shows direction to your squad's map marker. This only appears at ranges of more than 125m. This applies to all infantry and vehicles.
# Added indicator for the range to your squad's map marker which appears when you bring up your map. This indicator only shows increments of 50m (50m, 100m etc). This only applies to squad leaders and players in the deployable mortar.
Need Devs answer:
1. Is this 2D indicator (chevron) displayed right away, when the SL sets the marker? Or after some time? Does SL himself see this chevron (marker is far away, say 500m)?
2. Range to the marker, that is shown on map - it will always show 0, unless I man the mortar?

It's just a wide 'V' just above the compass.
