Anyone have trouble reading map grids?

Post by Conman51 »

I have 2 main problems with reading the maps, i play on low graphics so that probably makes a difference, but my biggest problem is the letters and numbers, and then the big grid lines look the same as the keypad grid lines, so i mix them up a lot

anyone else have these problems? or is it just because im playing on low?

I have the same issue. Old Grid system was much better and much more clear.

Could use some adjustment.

i have trouble because i actually have to think about it. i can see most of them just fine with mid-low graphics. although sometimes it sems as thos the grid is mis-aligned and i cant see the leters at the top.

It depends on the map. I was playing Korengal last night and the grid letters and numbers were almost invisible to me. But on other maps I can see it fine. Its either because the letters are white, or because they are not bright enough. Perhaps changing them to a dark red or black, or a very bright white will make them stand out more against the colors of the map.

/Agreed

I play on low and I do struggle at times, as well as having to think about it more because of the extra added letters :(

Low gfx wont make a difference to the quality of the minimap image since they are saved with no mip maps (or should be at least) so you will still see a 1024x1024 image just like anyone else.

A low screen resolution might make things a little harder on the other hand, but low gfx on there own wont.

Just make the letters bright red agian=sorted
there is no logic having them dark grey.

I say just make the letters bigger so that they fill up at least half the top grid.

If you find a map/layer with this problem, please report it as a bug (unless its a Skirmish layer).

well thats probably my problem then

but a bright green or yellow or even pink would stand out against most of the mini maps with dark rounds, just dont make them blue.

I like the new map system makes it way more accurate, but some maps its hard to see as the lines are in black agianst black background, were as other maps their white much clearer to see, all it needs is the lines brighting up and it would be okay I think, is it possible to stick a little letter in each top left corner of the grids so when you zoom in you at least no which coloum it is?.

Also, alternating colors for the grids would be nice, (looking at map from left to right) 1st line is black, 2nd is white, etc.

Or lighter/whiter, depending on what map you're playing ;) . This goes for the text as well.

I think it's something you have to get used to. It's more accarute now, so I like it.

All setting on highest... grid hard to read. But still usable.
