The i7 950 I can get for $230 locally.

Any help/tips/suggestions would be appreciated.

Just an interesting thing, I think Mad Mike's new build and this one look quite similar.

I would take a look at newegg feedback & general reviews on what others have put together.. memory + mainboard, graphics card + mainboard ect..

I would also suggest that you thoroughly enjoy this bad boy your putting together ;)

Cheers,

I have the same case. I got it to fit my radiator inside the case. That is a B I G case.It is a full tower case. I would recommend a smaller case unless you plan on stuffing ALOT of stuff inside like a full 240mm radiator in there.

@DDS will do, thanks for the tips.

@SnipeHunt, ya it is quite big but apparently, the SOC GTX 470 is also huge. Thanks for the advice, I'll try finding some dimensions on the two things.

Protect your investment, buying this whenever I eventually build my rig.

Im currently on the go of ordering my new computer, as you have seen lol.

I was going to buy the Antec Twelve Hundred Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case aswell but a mate has the same case and he says its nice looking and has loads of room but the fans are so noisey even on medium speed.
So I changed my mined and decided to get a aluminium case thats reliable and I know what you mean when you said u need a big case to hold your gtx470. Because my gtx480 is the same size and will fit in this case no problem....

Lian Li Midi Tower Armorsuit Aluminium Black Case with Window : PC-P50WB |Specialtech UK Water Cooling Shop

Alot more here aswell:

I have a GTX 460 in mine and still had room for the coolant pump next to it. The Fermi cards should fit fine in a mid tower case.

The Twelve hundred specs(full tower)
22.9" (H) x 8.4" (W) x 20.2" (D)
compared to the nine hundred (mid tower case)
19.4"(H) x 8.1 "(W) x 18.4"(D)

Basically the same case design, big difference is that it is a few inches shorter (one less 120mm fan)
I put the big radiator in the lower part of the case (where you see the 3 fans in front, above that are 2 HDDs, one optical drive and a media card reader.

Thanks guys, I'll move my case down to a Mid-Tower case and save a couple of bucks.

Does everything on the list look compatible with each other? I sort of don't want to buy all that stuff and have to deal with returns and re-buying different parts.

That case is MASSIVE, my friend has a full atx case also.

He's got about 7 fans in it running 3x SLI... It sounds like a jet engine and consumes just as much of his power bill

Would an Antec Nine Hundred Two be worth getting over an Antec Nine Hundred?

EDIT:
Would it be prudent to buy a 1000 W PSU instead of 750 W PSU for future upgrades to this PC I think it'd only be $20 - $40 more?

awesome man, thanks for the tip. Watching the prices on these parts drop by $50 each is pretty cool.

Any idea if the Rosewill 1000 W PSU is any good?

For PSU's, 80 Plus Gold Certified is what you're looking for. Feel free to buy things that aren't, there are still plenty of good non-80 Plus PSUs out there, but the Gold Certified PSUs are guaranteed top notch

So does higher W damage your PC? If so, I'll probably downgrade as well.

No it doesnt damage it mate.
But I can see what people are saying having that much like 1000w is rediculous
750-850w is good enough for our build.
You would need 1000w if ur going to get 2 cards.
