PR won't start
I just installed PR 0.95 and tried running it with the shortcut. What happens is that the box that pops up before the game starts (The one with the PR logo) shows up and after it closes and nothing happens. No error message, or anything. It just disappears and the game won't run. I waited about 10 minutes after the box disappeared and still nothing happened.
Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

Re: PR won't start
I am experiencing something very similar to this! I just installed BF2 on my laptop and installed PR no problem. When I double click the icon to start PR the scree pops up, then goes away. Does nothing. I sometimes get an Error message that says, "ERROR: Unable to find BF2Audio.dll module. I don't understand what's going on. Btw...I have Windows 7.

BF2 needs to be patched with both 1.41 and 1.5 (in that order).
Make sure the Resolution in "My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\000x\Video.con" is supported by your monitor.

Got a PROBLEM? Check this: PR:BF2 Installation Guide

Re: PR won't start
Alright problem solved. I decided to run vanilla BF2 to see if it would work and apparently I needed to run that before I started PR because everything works fine now.

I have already done the patching.[R-COM]SnipingCoward wrote:BF2 needs to be patched with both 1.41 and 1.5 (in that order).

I went to "My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\Video.con" but I don't understand where I am suppose to go from there to verify that it's supported by my monitor. I tried right clicking it and looking at the properties but that was no good.

Yeah, running vanilla BF2 before PR worked for me too. It did that again a time after but I deleted the cache files on BF2 and it worked again.

Re: PR won't start
By running vanilla BF2 I mean that I tried running the unmodded version of BF2. I guess PR just needed some files that the BF2.exe creates the first time it runs.

Re: PR won't start
post the contents of prError.log , found in your root PR directory.Zeppelin35 wrote: Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?
I will hazard a guess though that you have installed PR and BF2 from scratch and you don't have a profiles directory.
(to fix ... launch vanilla BF2 and recover profiles)
The whole BF2Audio.dll is a weird thing ... I get that too, but only on the steam version and only if I try and launch pr before starting steam. No idea what causes it but it doesn't seem to do any harm.

I had a similar error but got an error message then a black screen... then CTD. My error message was------> error: Unable to find BF2Audio.dll module.
To fix here is what I did - you should try the same.
Go to: C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Documents\Battlefield 2
Delete the folders inside.
Launch the game.

I dunno what causes it but it fixed it for me.
