How to use Mk19 reticle?

How does one find the range quickly and accurately with the Mk19 in the AAV? Do you just fire sensing rounds, or is there a way to use a laser rangefinder and combine with the reticle to get first round on target?

Also, when is the reticle matching the drop? Is it when zoomed in or out?

One line means 100m. Theres lines up to 8(800m) Use that whit rangefinder, easy.

I haven't really found the laser rangefinder for the AAV yet, where is it? Is the range indicated towards the bottom of the gunner sight, or top?

You'll see the rangefinder somewhere either on top of the screen or the bottom, i cant remember but you don't have to turn it on or anything so you just have to look. It'll have 3 digits and will automatically read the range as you move the turret.

Using the GLTD, the range is bugged, can anyone confirm if the same is true for gunners of AFVs?

As a gunner in the AAVP7A1, your reticle it to scale when zoomed in only. So when zoomed in, each of the 1-8 line markings for 40mm corresponds to 100's of meters. You have a range finder towards the top of your screen. Sometimes it will be off like all range finders in BF2 are so in those cases just walk the rounds on target.

This could be interesting as a mobile mortar type system. Would allow TOW and AA destruction behind cover, if far away enough, and elevated, with someone spotting.

I remember devs saying it can fire up to 800. Whit spotter...

Not to mention, that's pretty much about half the range of a mortar, but you have the advantage of ROF, armor, and speed to setup.

But if the area isn't too hot, using the AGL as a direct fire weapon is fine too.
