Need more RAM?

Post by ][nvert »

Hey guys, I've been contemplating buying some more RAM for my computer because PR has been running and loading slowly. It takes nearly 5-10 min to enter a round. I have noticed that every PR update I've downloaded from .9-.957 my loading times have gone up (I assume because of the amount of new material). I currently have 2GB of RAM on my computer.

Here is the interesting part for those tech guys out there, I am running PR on an iMac. I used their Boot Camp program and installed a partition of Windows onto my Mac so I could play PR. Windows runs the same as if it would on any other PC, no new catches, only that you can choose between Mac OSX and Windows at startup.

I have been looking at another 2GB of RAM for my computer to make my total RAM 4GB. I was wondering if this would make any difference in my performance when it comes to loading times.

My Specs are:
Windows XP Pro SP2
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
E8235 @ 2.80GHz
2.79GHz, 1.98 GB of RAM

Thank you for your time and suggestions :D

You don't have a dedicated video card?

Also is your RAM DDR2 or DDR3?
Is this a desktop PC?

My memory is DDR2
It is a desktop computer.

Probably wont. If you are running a 32bit OS, it most likely only utilize around 3. Plus loading times mainly are determined by hard drive speed.
