PR In-Game Tactics and Strategies - Project Reality Forums

Hey,

I will be honest... I've been in the forums for some time now but I do find it helpful. Especially in the section I linked ^

And to learn how to play PR, you read the manual (RTFM stands for that), you play Co-op, you join a squad and tell you are new.

Now, which questions do you have? I'll be glad to help you out - as I know many will as well.
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

What do you need help with???

I too am an original PR player but haven't played until last week, BUT, if you need help relearning the game, do what I did, Join a co op, join a squad and ask around lol People are more then happy to assist you.

If you have a game problem with install or not running correctly, try the PR-BF2 Support section (Found Here), I posted a problem i was having with my game running and within moments someone replied with the most helpful of tips and fixes that assisted me to a perfect flowing game!

I'm not much of a manual reader either, so i just figured it out as i went - and still am after five years. Get a mic, join a squad - there are plenty of helpful folks in the community.

As for getting the game going - we'd need to know your issues, then go from there.

I've been around on the forum for a while now and I've seen alot of people get infraction for insulting people. It's a forum, it's the internet. Some people just don't have any respect when they are not facing the person they are talking to.
Did you try posting at the support section with your problem?

I would recommend to print the manual and use it for in-game reference. Get a mic. Join a full squad and say... I am a noob and need some help. The members should all yell out no prob, happy to see ya.... If not check another one. The PR players are less jerks than they used to be and usually are very helpful when you ask.
Best line yet...

you go to documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default

-open video.con
-change your hz to this:
VideoSettings.setResolution 1280x800@60Hz

hope that works

Did you try running in Compatibility mode? Also, try to disable high-DPI settings, disable visual themes and desktop stuff under the "Compatibility" tab on right-click on PR shortcut.

Also, for the in-game tactics, I just thought I'd share this little manual I wrote a few months ago.
How to be a PR squad member
I hope this helps, somehow.

See you on the battlefield!

Don't infract me for this, but I completely agree with you on this. We were all beginners once and should be nice to the new comers. I see people asking questions and this is the first post that comes up. "Welcome to the forums. Use the search button. Locked."
Why not answer the question and then lock the topic?
The people on this forum are great, but you have to remember that most people who download a game don't expect to need instructions to play and should be helped. The bigger and more experienced the player base the better.

Don't get me wrong PR is my favorite game and probably the only gaming community where you are free to communicate with all the DEVs whom are always helpful.

Make sure you installed both the 1.41 AND 1.5 BF2 patch.

Right click PR icon and "Run as Administrator".

Let us know if that dont work.

I think this is the problem... a lot of people would logically think that you'd just need to install the very large 1.5 patch, but in fact in their infinite wisdom Dice made v1.5 an incremental patch, and thus you need to install:
- BF2
- Patch 1.41
- Patch 1.5
- PR Part 1
- PR Part 2
- PR Part 3
- Mumble ;) (not necessary but I recommend it)

Then you're ready to play

Ah come on Steel, you're not that f**kin stupid. If you were, and you were searching for 3 years, you would be on the EA forums by now :D J/K.

Ask for help and you'll get it bud.
