MP5 Reload

Post by Filamu »

I used the MEC crewman with mp5 today and I saw that the soldier removes the mag, sets the loading handle in the back position before he sets in a new mag and then hits the handle and loads the gun.
In my training with mp5 we just remove the mag, set in a new one and load the gun by pulling the handle back and releasing (Norwegian army).

Is the current loading animation something being used in other countries? It seems so unnecessary to do it that way.

the MP5 reload is based on the MEC G3 reload that we have(had in .9), which i think is based on the Norwegian army G3 reload. im pretty sure Chuc posted a referance video someone sent him while he was redoing the animations.

interesteringly, the Insurgent G3 reload is just as you describe.

edit: dug up the video
These reloads are based off Norwegian AG3 reload drills as kindly demonstrated to me in video from by [R-MOD]KP. The last animation is for the insurgents.

The insurgent one is such as we have learned the MP5, and such as those who use AG3 (g3) have learned.
Only if you get a cartridge stuck in the gun would you do it as the other g3 and the mp5 reloads show. Could be that they got the drill for stuck cartridge instead of normal reload and therefore made the wrong animation.

The HK load and slap has been seen in so many movies and other media and that's it seems to be the correct way to load it. Even though it isn't. Also it is very very cool and in turn makes it fun. The lock and slap isn't to do with any other countries or whatever it's just cool and fun. After all this is a game and games are supposed to be played and enjoyed.
So a bit coolness can't hurt. Even if it makes no sense.
