crsah to desk top when started

well thats what it does, I click on the icon and i get the pr splash then the bf-2 splash then blank for a second then crash to desk top?

Try running the game in window mode. You will get an error message when the game crashes.. What does it say?

To play PR in a window, right click your PR shortcut. In the Target section, change "+ fullscreen 1" to "+ fullscreen 0" You will get a windowed version of the game.

EDIT: New version doesn't have "+ fullscreen 1" but just add "+ fullscreen 0" to the the line (remember the space before "+"

Ok , the game takes a long time to load 5 miniutes or so.
verifies for a few miniuts before going to the squad deployment screen.
some times it sits here for a while and pb kicks me for comunication failure, once it refured to a loss of heart beat.
I have made it to the kit selection screen and i have made it into a game before.
But 18 out of 20 attempts PB c
kicks me as i wait for the squad deployment screen.
