Well for some reason the shoot's now go at where i aim even tough im not waiting 8 seconds like it was needed on the last version.

Now i can shoot proper with just 2-3 seconds.

Maybe it is just the 3dscopes that actualy work on close-medium distances, where the 2d ones only worked well on long or mediun-long. On the 3d scopes it is easyer to fire on full-auto and keep the target on the aim, were on 2d scopes it was a pain in the ***.

But the infantary gameplay has certainly improved, and that comes from the one who made "motivational" posters making fun of the PR deviation.

On the 6 man mortar squads

I was running 6 man mortar squad the other night (my first interaction with mortars), I had the squad set up as follows

Fire Team 1

SL (me)
Medic
Rifleman/Sniper

Fire Team 2

Mortar Gunner
Mortar Gunner
Rifleman (Ammo runner)

This proved VERY affective as once we had located a target like a fire base, fire team 1 could move in and clean up after the mortar strike.

Although I can see the problems people are talking about as there is just no need for 6 men to hang around the mortar pits, but this is more poor squad management than anything.

This night, I downloaded the latest update and had a go on a server...
first time in ages.. and probably I won?t give it another try.
As this thread mentioned.. no infsquads, and only a spawnpoint in main... After 8 min none had left the mainbase??? It was slow gameplay and after a while i got tired of waiting for a ride.. One player had 3 kills that was it.. man I remember when I played this mod a year ago.. always action and plenty of spawnoptions... oh dear.. what happened.

Summary: wait, walk, die repeat.

Flame all you want but that this just made me sad bcuz I used to love this mod.
It didn?t feel the same, to much has changed.

you probs played on a bad server at a bad time or something usualy if your in a good SQ you won't die often and get some kills.

Well I gave it another go..
Korengal Valley I think it was called on a populated server that used to be good.
10 min in the game and no one had got a kill...
odd for a wargame... it feelt more lika a sunday drive.. I didnt even se an enemy soldier.

I cant blame the squadleader, he was doing what he was supposed to .. I think.

f..k how depressing... I was so looking forward to a great evening of fun.

Maybe you shouldnt play with retarded germans or french, and try the american servers instead. Works for me :)

Yes sure , i tried these night one of these wunderfull american servers.
Muttra City. The American and the Mec Build their Mortars in the "No Go" areas at Harbor and Fortress. And then they fired without break.

1/3 Of the team stand at the mortars
1/3 of the team used the Hardware
and the rest of the team run into his death.


Really there are more teamplay and fun on German servers
(easy serverrule on the Coffeeshop Server, its forbidden to build Mortars in "No Go Areas")

The rest is Personal. Sure German Server 75% are German Players so the most Sqads Speak and write German. But we are obliging and if a non german Joins the sqad most times we switch talking to English. (Sure not if there is already a english voip Squad with 3-5 Members)

Finally i can only say

Since the last 1,5 Years Inf was Punished by
Less Spawn Points
Less Unarmored Vehicles
Less Posibillity to take Kits
During this time now nearly every old player knoe where you can build Fobs so they are all dead birth.
Infrared Sight on Vehicles
Mortars and nearly no Cover against (and no chance to get a Kits in field beacuse the few Crates delivered there are Destroyed)
and so on.

Sure many Points depending on the Round herself. But with a Good Commander at the other side a Good Helo Sqad and or a good mortar Sqad ...... no chance to play sensefull as a Sqad.

I Still want a fob you can Place inside a Building. 50 Meters Ago from a crate. Make the crate be Destroyed by Building this hidden fob, but make the Fob be able to Deliver Kits to the Infantrie. Such a Fob you can Place inside Buildings (like Real), and Tanks etc. are not able to Destroy them so easily (like real)

Maybe if you're german, or at least speak german. All i can say is things like Hall? Ich Heisse Edvin und wohne in Schweden. Doesnt get you very far in PR. Oh, and I do know all those commands from BF1942 though, like Angrefen or Halte die Position. I tried to play with the germans once but you all speak too fast and blurry.

On the american servers nearly everyone speaks the same language; English. that makes TP alot easier.

Plus the americans are good warriors. They owned you twice in the world wars and have dominated the world since. So, better warriors IRL and that obviously makes them better in game! Natural Born Warriors. Why not play PR with them?

You are just sour because Sweden was one of the three countries who actually wanted to be natural and managed it. All are always saying that we weren't in the war and that is bad, but fact is only five countries in Europe wanted to wage war, the rest was neutral but got invaded anyways. The only thing that difference Sweden was that it actually managed to stay neutral.

Countries that wanted to be neutral the entire war and not fight at all:
Holland.
Belgium.
Spain.
Poland.
Greece.

i like to think(and i have been told) that im a good infantry squad leader. the problem is i dont really want to do it. i want to crew an armored vehicle and crew it properly. i want to support the infantry. i would absolutely love to drive for a mechinized infantry squad.

is this so wrong that i want to be a tank whore who wants to help infantry?

This is the one and only thing holding this game back is the lack of good infantry squads. There is always one or 2 but loads of locked squads with one and two members and the coordination between APCs and infantry is always lacking. APCs are constantly acting like combat vehicles and not supporting and carrying troops.

Would love to see more full properly equiped inf squads working together.

Was playing Iron Eagle the other day and Cavebunker was infested with enemy Infantry. The only way to take them out was to go in as infantry but no squad would go in. External CAS and armor support can only do so much.

Would have participated in a raid but was spotting for a CAS crew. Love playing infantry as much as I love armor and air.

Whenever I play, I tend to want to play infantry, obviously from time to time, I like to try out the new sexy thermals and stuff for vehicles, but I'm a 99% whore :)

I have only been playing CoOp on public servers and it really depends on the times people play.

Spend a day playing at odd hours (random hours of a 24 hr. cycle).... you will find a good crew somewhere in there.

I personally leave chopper piloting to command a squad or laze/call for fire if the team is short. I don't like commanding less than three men, as the extra work load isn't really rewarding unless you have a solid squad behind you.

I do prefer to snipe alone though, only because I use certain tactics that take time for new players to respect (inex. never standing in open, move after a few shots, deep building positioning, etc.). Worst thing in the world is to belly crawl for ten minutes...... only to have someone spawn standing right next to you :roll: .
