Monitor flickers when turned on, then fine?

Hey guys,

I have a Samsung monitor that I've had since about September '07 that's served me very well, but over the last week or so, when I switch it on in the morning it flickers like crazy for about 10 seconds and then it's completely fine.

I swear my old monitor did the same, and the more I left it the longer the flicker periods became (over quite a short period of time), until eventually it never stopped flickering.

Any suggestions, or is it just a case of it having come to the end of its life?

My last Samsung monitor started to flicker just like this last spring. (I swear it was just 1 week or so after my 3 year warranty ended)
At first it was just a few seconds before it stopped, after a few month it could take 10-15-20 minutes for it to stop. It even started out completely black, as if not turned on at all and then started to flicker a few minutes later.

After that I bought a new monitor from another company.


Anyway, if your samsung monitor is anything like mine it will gradually get worse until you have no choice but to buy a new monitor.

It's probably a bad capacitor problem.
