Bad Framerate - Notebook - Need Advice

Post by Garack »

I am trying my new notebook for PR-

Irs a Acer Aspier 7745 g with 4 Gig RAM , I5-430 with up to 2.6Ghz and a ATI 5850 with Gddr3 Ram.

Win7 64

Latest drivers

I often get 20-30 Frames in most maps. Depends in which direction i look.

I tried other Settings. All Settings medium give me the same framerate. Also changing resolution to 1280 (from 1600) give me the same frames.

So the GFX is fine and CPU must be the bottleneck...

Is there any way to make the Game playable?

Thanks! Btw Bad COmpany 2 is running with minimum 30 Frames on medium.

Have you tried:
- Running benchmarking tools on your hardware to make sure it's running to spec
- BF2 to see what your FPS are like on a much less taxing game
?

I think it's an issue with quad cores.

Either that or Windows 7, as my brother gets twice the FPS on high, no matter what detail level I'm at.

My specs:
Q9650
4GB corsair dominator
x2 9800GTX
Win 7 x64

His specs:
E8400
4GB OCZ Reaper
x2 8800GTS 512
Win Vista x64

No as i wrote i have a dual core.

My Quad desktop pc runs better because of 400 Mhz more.

The modded BF2 Engine is not CPU limited and NOT GPU limited om my [email protected] andGTX470.

Both GPU and CPU are never at 100%.

So its an engine bug ?

other games run fine. CPU is not overaloaded i see with riva tuner.

perhaps the i430 goes not on power mode from 226 to 2.6 . I need a tool to see how much the cpu is clocked ingame,...

So why did you ask for advice when you're just going to do your own troubleshooting anyway?
