Hi there
First of all I know how to put markers down as squad leader via the radio but sometimes it seems that the markers that I put down doesn't go down where I want them. For example I put an observe marker down where I want to place the marker, I get the distance right, I look straight in the direction of the marker and place my marker... but often it places the marker a bit off from where I intented. Is there some advice here to make sure the marker goes down where I want it???
Also I noticed on several maps (i.e. Burning Sands) that the compass is not perfect calibrated to the map. For example if I go drive directly east acording to the map the compass shows that I'm acutally driving a little bit away from east. Have others noticed this too?? And is this related with the problem with putting down markers where I want them?

For accurate markers you need to move forward towards where you want the marker. This aligns the radio or something. This can be done while having the radio out, and a small tap on 'w' is enough.

^ not sure
think of it this way, ingame your legs and body don't always point the same direction, so that your 3rd person model looks right.
the markers always go wherever your legs are pointing, I don't know why and I don't know if it can be changed.
if you just tap backwards or forwards the legs become aligned to the direction you are facing, giving you an accurate marker.

Re: Putting down markers as squad leader
it's a BF thing, been around since 1942. although it was never a problem in BF1942. It is caused by how your body doesn't turn around if you just look slightly to the left or right and only your upper body turns. It has only surfaced as a problem now since the markers are deployed in relation to where your body is pointing.
Information in the hands of a critical thinker is invaluable, information alone is simply dangerous.

There are two different directions, your camera direction and your body direction. Python reads the body direction when it places a mark (it can't read the camera direction from what I understand) so you have to align your camera and body before placing a mark by moving forward a bit.

Just did a test and I confirm... moving just a litle bit foward fix the maker problem with the radio or the GLTD.
So... each time you rotate... you have to move a litle.
It was a it frustrating to be unable to place accurates markers on the map, especialy when you want to do an Arty/mortar request... I was prety sure it was an engine bug or something.
Thx for the answer.
