In Production: Ultimate War Manual UWMA1
Alright I've been out for a while getting chewed out and chewing out the superiors and inferiors. No secret my experience has more than doubled on and off the field. Within the next few days/weeks I will be producing a chapter by chapter, section by section manual directed towards official matched(clan specific) competition. It is ultimately the competing pairs decision to adopt, study and hereby follow the instructions this guide will present. I plan to keep the guide available to all clans by public display as well as adjust any sections based on reasoning to fit the needs and/or demands of a specific party. It is ultimately the responsibility of both parties to keep integrity when abiding by this manual, my advise would be to readily professionalize your team when doing so.
A few things you will expect to see in this manual.
* Individual, Squad and Platoon Responsibilities when using the UWM1A1( Ultimate War Manual)
* Basic Combat efficiency skills
* Basic Medic efficiency skills for the medic and it's squad(in and out of combat)
* Basic Communication efficiency between squads, the platoon and the commander.
* General Rules of Engagement and when to supersede by authority.
* Providing effective supportive operations
* Your responsibility to the squad leader, your platoon and the Commander.
* General defensive measures.
* Forward Outpost regulations
* Reading your map
* Chain of Command - Your squad leader, his commander and why what you say out of turn doesn't matter.
* Proper use of personnel vehicles.
* Proper use of Armored(both Light and Heavy) Vehicles.
* Proper use of Aircraft.
* Reporting hostile activity.
Something that has been anticipated, very much needed and of course will not be initially released with the manual
* A complete guide to forward operations/combat field commanding, using radio communication to your platoon, using the drawing board(the map bimbo), orchestrating your squads, preliminary briefing and designing your own strategic drawing board, directing indirect fire, regulating incoming reports and keeping record of your opponents activity.(pre-game strategy)
There will be more as I go over the final revisions prior to releasing this manual.
Suggestions to further increase the volume of this manual as well as criticism welcome.
Keep in mind this guide is directed towards organized clans who participate in official matches and will be geared towards all operatives(gaming modes).
What I could use from everyone who leads a squad or commands, are some examples of their systematic strategies and advancements. They must be drawn on the in-game map, with a legend and a written description that includes Point A to Point B coordinates(In ex: Listing the spawn, example A1K1 spawn, and the initial advancement ending in point C1K1). All points must be given a abbreviated name(1A, 2A for example). If there is a specific route that must be taken for strategic purpose, there must be a line that connects Point A to Point B. You may also draw predicted enemy positioning and counter-strategy on the same map.
* Do not give me a map with 9000 lines on it, as if you drew down the strategy for the entire round. Each specialized strategy must have it's own map. Alternate strategies may be drawn on the same map but must clearly appear as the alternate(different color lines/X's/O's or whatever) If you want to name your strat, for example I have one called 'Operation Backstab', feel free to do so.
Anything that you feel needs to be added to this please suggest in your replies. i will be adding this to the original post.

The ultimate war manual sounds promising. Looking forward to read it.
Define irony. A bunch of guys playing PR year after year. A game teaching initiative as the prime mover.
However, in regard to EA, these guys never took the initiative.

Finally something that combines all guides. No more searching for example how to operate aircraft. All in one guide, keep it up!

After you're done, I suppose we could adapt it to the general public?SSG Jay wrote:Keep in mind this guide is directed towards organized clans who participate in official matches and will be geared towards all operatives(gaming modes).

Sounds great and I find if you take 5 minutes out at the beginning of the round to pull your infantry squad of to the side of the base and run some separate fire team/ formation drills it's a big pay off so this guide should not be too far above the public level

* Make sure that your descriptions clearly show what your drawings represent and vice versa. Alternative
That does have it's advantages, but of course you are lucky to have team members that show they have learned what you drilled them on even if in the slightest bit. Something like playing the lottery around these parts.BrandenburgKommando wrote:Sounds great and I find if you take 5 minutes out at the beginning of the round to pull your infantry squad of to the side of the base and run some separate fire team/ formation drills it's a big pay off so this guide should not be too far above the public level

Would be brilliant to have a shared map that the commander could draw lines on, waypoints, covering positions etc.
But then you'd need co-ordination between the squads.. Gawd I need a clan lol.

Re: In Production: Ultimate War Manual UWMA1
Update: Okay for the last few weeks I have been working on this manual (for more info read the original post). I originally planned to make it a brief but detailed manual but later decided to expand it's chapters and sections into a fully detailed, graphic manual geared towards changing the basic structure of tactics and play used by the PR community. Please continue to follow along for updates. There will be no previews until release for protective reasons.
Currently completed 3 chapters and 15 sections of the following:
Basic Combat Efficiency Skills
Basic Communication Efficiency Skills
General Rules of Engagement
As I continue to provide updates I will post brief descriptions of what can be found in each chapter.

Re: In Production: Ultimate War Manual UWMA1
I thought I'd post the introductory chapter which gives brief commentary on responsibilities of using the manual. It is possible that I may either extend or expire this section in the live version of the manual.
The following document has been edited from it's original format.
The following document has been edited from it's original format.
UWM1A1
Introductory 00 (expiration date 11122010 ddmmyyyy)
This is the first book and first revision of the Ultimate War Manual, a handbook designed to introduce conventional operations to the organized player base of Project Reality. There will be many efforts to revitalize this guide as the game evolves and implementations take place. The effort to make this manual conventional between the clans of Project Reality will be pressed upon completion. When utilizing this handbook is it important that all necessary steps are taking in making sure that both your entire team and your opponent, comprehend and adhere to it?s use.
UMW1A1-00
Preliminary 00
Individual, Squad and Platoon Responsibilities when using the UWM1A1(Ultimate War Manual).
In chapter 00 we will go over the importance of your responsibilities when using this manual.
all sections in this chapter will be read in ex. (UWM 00-1 line 1a) lines ex. 1.1a-1.1b, will not be found in this chapter.
Section 1 : You the Individual
Intro
So you like playing the game and you thought you?d be a valuable asset to a clan around the network. Skipping forward, you?ve played a couple games with the clan and probably have gotten used to their style of play. But all of a sudden your clan leader tells you to view the forums and read up and learn some thing he called the ?Ultimate War Manual?, hey what the hecks that. Your thinking hey it can?t be too bad eh? WRONG! You immediately click the link only to be swamped with chapters upon chapters of detailed information.
1.1a You as the individual have the most important responsibility when your clan is utilizing this guide. There are several important areas in this guide that must be understood and followed in order to fully optimize the intent and ensure fair and balanced game play.
1.2b You as the individual no longer make the rules, the rules have been provided for you and will be instructed and enforced by your superiors. If your superseding member asks your to grab a medic kit, don?t show up with sniper kit. If you are told to defend an area, don?t go wandering off to another area because your confident there will be no activity, you as the individual are no longer confident in anything other than your confidence to uphold your orders and win.
1.3c Your squad leader will deliver orders and will expect you to follow them without questioning, you as the individual have the obligation to your clan to do so.
Section 2 : You the Squad
Intro
So there?s more than one you now. You now know your responsibility as a individual which is to do as your told in accordance with the manual and upon delivery from your squad leader. But now that there?s more of us things become a little more depth. You are now a member of a team. Each one of you now have your ankles chained together, so if the guy in front decides to jump off that cliff, you have one or two options. You can either lift your weight and be prepared for one heavy fall with all your team members behind ready to crush you as you land, or you can stand firm and when that chain jerks be ready to drag him back up. In brief when one of your squad members fail you all fail, there is no I in squad.
2.1a You as a member of a squad have a obligation to your fellow squad members and your squad leader, never at any time should you act in a manner that will be ultimately to your sole benefit, everything must be to the benefit or your team. If your team is surrounded and you are running away because you are trying to save your own life, you?d better be the god damn medic, attempting to hide out until you are able to pick your squad up.
2.2b If your squad is performing squad movements, each one of you has an obligation to know where your squad members are going if there is a decision to break formation. You furthermore have an obligation as a member of the squad to report activity in your area as you see them. If you fire your weapon(In accordance with the General Rules of Engagement, see General Rules of Engagement)it is your responsibility to report your activity, the direction of fire, as well as the intent for discharging your weapon.
2.3c You as a member of a squad have an obligation to use the kits directed by your squad leader, drive the vehicles designated by your squad leader and travel to the destinations designated by your squad leader.
2.4d You as a leader of a squad have an obligation to follow all orders given by your commander when/if present. You have the obligation to assign the kits as directed, drive the vehicles as directed and travel to destinations designated by your commander.
Section 3 : You the Platoon
Intro
Whoa, your numbers are growing fast. There seems to be multiple squads now all ready to take the enemy by storm. You are now a platoon, a multi-squad team all after one objective, to win. Your probably wondering how all of you will remain on the same page now that there is so many of you. Here you are thinking those chains you have tied with your fellow squad members were already too much to deal with. Now you have to watch your calorie intake too because if you eat too much of the platoons supply, you starve a fellow squad. That?s right your entire platoon depends on the same box of food to survive and if you decide to get greedy and eat that extra gummy bear, someone in another squad just died of starvation. In brief, each squad has an obligation to work together and co-exist, if you are not looking out for your other team members you could jeopardize their goals, your goals and the overall teams goal which is to win.
3.1a When working as a platoon, frequent communication is required to perform as one weapon. The minute you decide you?re all about your squad is the minute you have lost the match.
3.2b Use your map, learn where your squad is and where other squads are. Report hostile activity your squad has encountered and ask other squads to report theirs, you never know when you may need reinforcement.
3.3c Joint operations are to be performed only by approval of your commander if/when present.
3.4d Do not override or interfere with another squads objective unless approved by superseding orders.
Conclusion
Now that you know the basic responsibilities required of you to perform as an effective Individual, squad and platoon, you are ready to proceed with this manual.
UMW1A1-00
