Why not you try that yourself? You MUST know how much training every insurgent gets EXACTLY to be able to say that...LOL Surely you MUST know that they NEVER got their hands on a M249 before to study it in order to gather more info about capability of their enemies.

Squad automatic weapons have the same usage world wide IIRC, RPK have less rounds per mag but the usage is very similar (Insurgents are "trained" to use RPK and PKMs so I do not see how they would not know what is the appropriate time to use M249).

My post was just to say that they can fire it... if you can aim and adjust the sights perfectly, it most likely will fire where you want it to... unless for some reason that U.S. SAW has incorrectly adjusted sights or markings in english letters to confuse the enemy on purpose? Unfortunately we do not have adjustable ironsights in PR. In the end, it is the reloading at cache that is the unrealistic part.

At times I wish we can have a insurgent "military" advisor on PR forum... but the guy will probably either type in a language that I can never hope to understand or in english, made up of words such as "mohammad, jihad, allah, akbar, dirka dirka"...lol

Oh Dear! I see PR Devs are taking it too far.
I bet that IRL insurgents take everything they can from enemy dead soldiers, do their own research & learn how to use that certain piece of equipment and use it later.

Access to Ammo is always going to be the limiting factor, fair enough use the rifle
until the ammo you have found with it runs out.

Isn't that Al-Zarqawi when he couldn't fire the saw for minutes? Actually another insurgent cocked the gun for him after a while...
The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not "Eureka!" [I found it!] but "That's funny . . . "

Yes I know what you mean.
But it takes a lot of training to use a specialized weapon properly. And realistically under the stress of battle you are not going to be able to figure out what to do. So just for a bit of realism. That's what they've done.
I think we should be able to use all of the kits that players can spawn with, and none of the specialized "requestable" kits. that makes a lot of sense to me
