Its already pretty bad on 4x4 maps.
thats just an issue of map design. if tehres an AAS layout in which all flags are in a balanced and realistic order (not like barracuda, lol airfield first flag! ; just 4 or 5 flags (nearyl) in one line )it should be no problem.
and perhaps it would even decrease lonewolfing, because the ditances are much longer and you dont want to directly die when you arrived, so youll advance with your team.

imo, z-fighting isnt very annoying

Z-Fighting is a graphical glitch, not a gameplay issue.

It will be annoying when you are at the conner of the map. Seriously it will seem like your weapons are falling apart.

hm i dont exactly know how z fighting works, but i had the problem in ~0.6 very hard in ejod desert, but in the centre of the map. (or is it proportional to the distance of the camera to the centre of the map? was very high in battle recorder)

When i played Wake Island 8x8 on Combined Arms and got in a jet and flew to all the way to border texture quality gets REALLY low and overlapping each other. I had a screenshot somewhere, but im at work atm.
