Does anyone know how to improve stability of the editor on Windows 7 x64 . It crashes all the time.

You just created 3 threads. 2 of these I am almost 100% sure you can find answers and/or tutorials for in this section by just taking 5 minutes to try to search.
Personally I don't really care but I know some of our moderators do, so in the future try to use the search function to find the answer, failing that or have a specific problem - create a thread.

Run in XP SP3 compatibility mode, and run as admin. It's what I do and it runs great.
Plus, if you're new to the editor, it's like it crashes randomly
. Get along with her, and you'll do just fine. We all learned the hard way

I just went ahead and did a dual boot of WinXP. The editor takes too long to load to just crash every 10mins.

First of all, control what you're loading - you don't need to load all the statics, vehicle, weapons, etc. I personally set it up to load nothing except a few custom objects that I'm testing and work from there for my test maps.
If you're doing mapping, you really shouldn't load anything more than the staticobjects folder. Anything more is just useless strain on your RAM, and will increase the frequency of crashes. I've been using Windows 7 exclusively for about a year and never had undue crashing issues from the editor.

Yeah the dual boot thing didnt work. I am going to try running this to see what I get. More than half of my time is sitting there waiting for pr_edit to load.
