I've tried searching for this problem but the user got it fixed himself and only left message about how "registry fix" fixed it :/

does BF2 work when you join a server? when yes, uninstall pr, clear the logo cache and profiles in the documents and try again.
when not ... are other games working?
also trie to donwload latest drivers for gfx and souncard (from June 2010).

It didn't work so I proceeded on reinstalling.
Of course this reminded me on how the fuck I hate reinstalling BF2, a bunch of problems (thanks EA for not ever covering things) like I CAN'T INSTALL IT AT ALL.
The installer loads quickly to ~~30% and then disappears. Fucking great.

tried with UAC off, yet?
Q: I cannot run the installer, it just hangs.
A: If you are running Windows Vista, try disabling User Account Control (UAC). You can also try disabling your anti-virus protection, and any other program that may be interfering with the launch of the installer. If this doesn't help, it may be a corrupted download. You can try fixing the corrupt sectors by using the torrent and pointing the save location to the corrupted installer, saving you having to download the entire file again.

Reinstalled, fixed. Though it took me hell a lot of effort to make this work...
