I suggest using an xbox controller, more user friendly and there is a thread that can help you out, PS3 controllers are much more comfortable though :3

I'm using the PS3 controller for character movement, shooting, using equipment, and squad communication. But for the rest I will use the mouse and some keyboards. So far it works very well. I've already assembled everything except one very important thing. Camera rotation. If anyone can PLEASE tell me how to adjust the camera rotation for infantry movement. I'm going to try to use the right analog stick for camera rotation. Where is it for infantry? PLEASE REPLY!!

Might seem too much effort, but since you are -you know- trying to play PR with gamepad, it could be some sort of solution for you.

I'm afraid you'll have to figure that one out for yourself since everyone here is playing with mouse and keyboard. There should be a sensitivity slider in the options page tho. That might work?

Look I just dont like mouse and keypad nor do I care if it's the way to play PC game period. I just want to use a controller. I saw a thread before saying you can but I just can't find it. If someone already uses a controller, please let me know the step by step procedure.

You dont really need a controller. Its not really a super fast paced game like MW2 or BC2.

You can't assign the X Y and Z axis to mouse look in BF2. If there is a way to emulate it, then that's the way you need to do it.

But notice in helo/aircraft it says pitch up down/turn etc all as commands - that is where the controller can be used, but for everything else it will make you use the mouse.

ok I downloaded the the motionjoy and installed it on my PS3 controller. How do I start PR? I clicked on the exe shortcut icon and a screen poped up and then it disappeared after a few seconds. What should I do now?

that may of been your first warning not to use a gamepad, lol.

sorry, just had to take that crack. I agree with most here that the gampad will not allow him to play effectively, just remember his sn that way you'll know its the gamepad wonder and wont be able to effectively help your team?

sorry I'm old school and believe this game is nowhere near a counsle game where you can use a gamepad. I dont play counsle games, I even own an xbox 360 that has barely been used simply because Ive adapted to the keyboard and mouse while playing fps games..

Just let him use his gamepad and then when he realizes its impossible to play PR with it, he'll give up and go back to Halo. It's called Natural Selection

I play a lot with my 360 controller, a lot of people on this forum have played with me and I don't think a lot of them have noticed any real different between me and others ingame. So its not impossible to play with it.
