Re: Voip Receiving problem.
What have you changed "1-2 days ago"?
Maybe a new Sound Card, USB-Headset?
There is a known bug that the transmission indicators of players will stay although they have stopped transmitting.
Also when ingame alt-tab out and check your "Mixer" (Speaker icon next to the clock) maybe there is something muted which shouldn't be.

Nope, no new Headset at all, neither sound card and so on... nothing is muted... I think I just gotta reinstall PR then...

Re: Voip Receiving problem.
I have this same problem. I tried reinstalling PR but voip still doesn't work.
I didn't change anything, it just started happening a few days ago. I also noticed while I can hear all other sounds, I can't hear any sound during the opening BSS and PR videos when you start the game.
-People hear me fine
-when other people talk, my game volume lowers (as it should)
-I can see their green name when they talk but I hear no sound
system:
OS: Windows 7
sound card: creative soundblaster
video card: 8800gts

Try with turning off exclusive mode for your playback device

Re: Voip Receiving problem.
I've got the same problem (except im on Vista) that started occurring yesterday or maybe the day before, nothing changed as far as sound settings or hardware, tried reinstalling PR to no avail. Though I can hear the menu sounds and all other sounds in the game as well (including the BSS and PR vid things on load up). Tried turning off exclusive mode, nothing is muted that shouldn't be, mumble isn't the problem because even when I run the game without mumble on this still happens.
specs.
OS: Vista
Graphics Card: GTX 470
Sound Card: uh can't quite recall...

Try this:
Make sure your Speakers are set as "Default device".
edit: Does this occur on multiple servers? Or just one?

Re: Voip Receiving problem.
Try with resetting your configs. Delete or rename/move "My Documents/Battlefield 2" so it is reinitialized with default settings.
Edit: Try it with these defaults right away.

*DISREGARD THIS POST* (Made stupid mistake had PR open when I tried to move file lol)
Uh, and yet a new problem arises, for some reason I can't move the file out of Documents, or rename it or delete it.....I do have administrator abilities on my log on and whenever I try and move it it says I'll need position a box opens to ask for my permission I hit continue for it to go and then another box pops up a couple seconds later telling me that "You need permission"...

Re: Voip Receiving problem.
Restart your PC, try again. This will reset any open handles.
Else: Use a Process manager to close the handles manually (I wont explain, either you know how or u just reboot

Re: Voip Receiving problem.
I just fixed it, When PR is running click the speaker icon to the left of your desktop clock and open the mixer. Check to make sure that the BF2 volume is turned up. Mine was at level 0.

If you're on Windows 7, perhaps this helps:
LithiumFox wrote:Right click your sound thingy on the bottom right hand corner of your screen, click Playback devices. A window should pop-up. Click communications tab.
"When windows detects communications activity"
Click do nothing. ^_^ Then ok.![]()

Re: Voip Receiving problem.
My problem isn't what Kraken has posted fixed his, and although the guy who started this thread is on Win 7 (sorry for kinda hijacking it hehe) I'm on Vista and so I don't have the Communications tab that Afterdune mentioned...

People can hear me fine I'm pretty sure, however I cannot hear anything that is said over squad VOIP, the game goes a little quieter as if they're talking but I cannot hear anything that is being said

Re: Voip Receiving problem.
Double check that in PR's audio settings in the "VOIP Volume"-section "Receive" is set to 100% and that after saving it it will actually stay at what you saved it at.
Did you try with different sound settings (i.e. "Hardware" and/or "Low")?

Re: Voip Receiving problem.
tried the receive thing to make sure and that wasn't the problem, but that's not it, but now no servers appearing on the list can't check the hardware thing
