Does everything really have to exploded on vehicals

Ok alot of the times when your getting shot at or just hit something your car lights on fire or explodes. UNLESS its a direct hit from an IED or RPG or explosive then your cars not going to explode. I would think there would be a way to just make it stop working.

Yeah, it is something that really bothers me.

We can't use a Humve (don't know how to call it) for cover from bullets because it will blown up everyone close to it.

I was thinking to do the same suggestion, to remove the small vehicles explosions.

It has to disappear at some point otherwise the server is going to get overloaded with objects and will start to lag/crash. And to have a destroyed car to suddenly disappear looks really strange dont you think.

ye explosions are really there to first, cover the transition from the normal model to the wreck model as it doing that without an explosion effect looks really, really odd and then it also has a wreck explosion effect, which is when the wreck is fully destroyed, which still looks odd with an explosion effect but without it, it looks much worse.

Maybe the size of the explosions could be further reduced, though? More like falling apart with some dust instead of blowing up?

well if anyone wants to have a go at something like that your more than welcome to try. Editing effects isn't really that hard, its just pretty time consuming and we have other things to be working on than messing about with effects ;)

Heh, I see^^

Well, I have no idea about these things and currently not the time or motivation to learn it. But perhaps someone who can do it might want to give it a try, I think it'd be a nice change, although not high priority of course.

I have been in collisions with insurgent transport cars while in a blufor vehicle and my vehicle would explode but the insurgents car wouldn't. It was fresh out of main too.

Is the wreck disappearing explosion still dealing damage to nearby soldiers? If yes, isnt it wierd?
I dont want to die because a 10-minutes-old wreck just got too old while i was covering behind him..

How hard would it be to reduce the damage from the explosion, while keeping the visual part? Just enough so that you don't die if you stand close to a car that gets taken out.

I thought exploding wrecks didn't do any damage anymore?
Exploding vehicles do, though, which could be changed for the more realistic I suppose.

Just change the explosion to like smoke or something, that'll cover the transition, and it won't look like its gonna blow everyone up, good idea tho, really good +1

Is it possible to retain the explosion when more dmg is dealt to the vehicles, I'm afraid turning down the explosion would have the same effect when you eat an RPG as when you're taking over whelming small arms. That would result in an unrealistic reaction on the other end of the damage spectrum, how realistic is it to have a hmv NOT explode when hit by a tank?

There will still be an explosion because of the tank round itself

I was thinking like when your driving and you get shot or if you run into a pole. Instead of just it exploding it stops moving and then it starts to smoke a lot, then you hop out or what ever and then like 7 min later if there is no repairs it makes it so you cant go in it any more, and by that time the smoke would of covered the transition. So its basically same thing as the fire just a lot longer because of slow damage. Then if the hit you with a RPG or something it still is able to blow the thing up at once. I hope that makes sense

this would be great cause that means that motocycles wouldn't be so freaking deadly to their own riders lol

i dont think the op minds the destruction of scrapped car explosion. it's the main one from when the car is still alive to dead transition. Maybe we could have flames flash over it like a quick splash of burning fuel that doesn't kill anybody who's not inside it. inside people will be incinerated. people using it for cover lose some eyebrows

You should add system like in choppers, when vehicle is damaged lets say 80% the engine stops working. So the cars/bikes will not instantly blow up after collision with few tres.
