Taliban civilian kit

Post by USMC scout sniper »

Just think about it. The Taliban have guys posing as civilians. I was watching a show about the Green Berets, and a Taliban fighter posed as a civilian when they looked at him, then when they weren't looking, he told his guys over the radio that he saw 4 humvees.

I also think this is realistic, people are arrested by the afghan police sometimes even if they are unarmed, usually if they are near a contact or if they have a bruised shoulder or something like that.

I have a feeling the taliban do have the option to drop their kit and be protected by the ROE but don't quote me on it.

indeed taliban do have collaborators, often they send guys around on motorbikes as scouts. Dont see why taliban dont have civillians, only reason i can think of is to add a different style to the insurgency, where u CAN shoot every 1 you see

They can't drop their kit. I looked it up in the manual. Only the insurgents and Hamas can do that.

TV show =/= Valid Source. I like having the taliban more as freedom fighters, like the militia, instead of them using civilian populous.

^^

The Taliban use what we (British) call Dickers. They're only armed with a mobile phone and contact the local leader with info on troop movements. They started using this tactic several years ago as they know our rules of engagement don't allow us to shoot someone who is unarmed.

Can be a pain in the arse but a few 'stray' rounds in their direction is normally a big enough hint.

Don't know if it is a valid source, but in the book Apache by Ed Macy, they once notice these guys from the logistic trucks to their main base who always get their cellphone out when the Apaches start.

I think they called them dickers or something, can't find the page.
I belive the book was written by a real pilot and it feels quite like it.

They also often encounter guys who obviously have just spotted targets for mortars and just dropped their radios seconds ago, so they can't shoot them.

You can drop it but the game isnt realistic so people shoot you anyways.

Shoot at American Patrol. Get Shot. Ditch Rifle. Ask Patrol for Bandage. Repeat? - NYTimes.com
^ This article appeared recently in the New York Times - It reminded me of PR lol.

Anyway the point is that if a Taliban fighter isn't holding a gun, they can't be shot.

I think civilians on a map like Lakashar would be crucial, also would feel more realistic.

Just make them look like unarmed Taliban with the Camo vest and such.
