To be honest, I think most of us playing regularly could do more to break in newcomers.
Me included I'm sad to say.
I really don't have problems with folks being new to the game. But I usually play in a pretty tight squad (in a clan) and having players new to to all this is, frankly speaking, damaging to ones squads success.
Tell us that you are new when joining our squad. And listen to what we say. Don't say you get it if you don't. Ask us to clearify. We will.
However this isn't just with the new guys. Some veterans don't play all that well either IMO. They might know the manual by heart but they still just run off or grab wrong kits.
It's never easy to join a squad, especially one full of same clan. Guess we all have our diffrent ways. Not many clans play the same way. Some use only 4-man squads. Some divide their 6-man squad up in two 3-man segments. One usually supressing target-area while the other segment flanks. Some are very strict, using formations and all players got their specific places.
To ask any new player to adapt to this with ease is....hehe...it's just plain wrong.
I personally have never called anyone a noob. Think it's a degrating term, used all to often by people who just don't know any better. I am aware of the words actual meaning. But we all know how its used.
And then the constant "READ THE MANUAL". Whats up with that? Ofcourse one should read it first before playing. It's the right/smart thing to do. But it is my bet that most have read it, maybe even twice. But I can't put it on anyone to remember every little detail in it.
If you are new:
- Read the manual.

- Try singelplayer for a few hours, get the hang of it.
- Get on board the PvP =)
- Join a squad.
- Tell us that you are new! Many, with that statement, are glad and willing to help out.
- Ask the squadleader what kit he wants you to grab, and where and when to spawn in.
- Same goes if you go down. Don't ever just respawn. Team loses tickets.
- Going down, you wait for medic, chances are you will get revived on spot.
- Being revived, listen to the medic. He might have directions for you. E.g. crawl north.
- When you are up, get ur beerings and shoulder your weapon.
- If medic is prone you might do well be being crouched aiming above him.
- Medkit is squads lifeline. If your squads medic goes down, you need to grab that kit at
pretty much any cost. Talk to SM's. And don't forget! revive the dead medic.
- If your deaddead. That is can't be revived. Ask SL (squadleader) where/when to spawn in.
- Communication! Talk to SM (squadmembers). But keep chat on buisness at hand.
- Spotting enemies. Dont just start shooting. Call them out to your buddies in squad.
Enemieclass if possible (HAT
heavy anti tank, SL, or maybe it's a vehicle~APC etc)
Tell what compass direction (east, northeast, 45, 90 deg etc) they're at.
Give the distance to enemie (150 meters, 400 yards etc).
- By sharing information about enemie, your squad gets a bigger chance of engaging them
with success.
- Many comrose commands can be heard by the nme. Use wisely. Ingamevoip is preferred.
- Covering sectors. Know what direction your fellow SM's are watching, you might do
better watching another one. Cover your squads six!
- Don't run off and do your own thing. Instant kick out of my squad for that one.
Some players, they spot an nme, they just run after them...and they die. Now their whole
squad needs to regroup to help one eager beaver. Not a popular event.
- Ask SL about ROE~rules of engagements. Sometimes its shoot at sight and sometimes it's
only fire if fired upon. Real irritating when you're sneaking up on a target and one SM just
starts blasting away on a nme far off. Sometimes its better to leave the little fishes for a
better chance on the big ones =) I.e the mission at hand.
- Many players are from diffrent nations. Squad can be full of swedes and they sometimes
just want to speak swedish. No offense.
- Join servers chat for added teamplay whether it be mumble or ventrilo.
- Read chat and don't spam it with nonsense.
- Be nice to people, say thx when getting revived or apc gives you ammo.
- Try and be active on forum here. Help find bugs and/or get useful tips.
- Vote PR for mod of the year. Search forum for link

- When mastering all this, be nice to the new guys. You'll have been there. Remember?
There is a whole lot more to learn and master but I'm tired and my mind just went blank. Hope this is helpful for you new guys.
Cheers and yall have a good weekend!
