[Help] Making BF2 editor work with PR

Post by Click »

I have a small problem, it is that I can't extract all the files in the object folder and it comes up with all of theses messages (see picture attached). I have also been following [R-DEV]Rhino's tutorial on setting up BF2 editor for PR and I have done up to step 4 but that is where I am stuck so if anyone knows how to fix this please let me know. Also my computer is windows vista.

I belive some people have had this problem and have solved it by using different zip extracting programs and/or extracting each .zip, one at a time.

Hmm... Looks like you don't have write priviledges to "Program Files" folder.

It's Vista. So UAC prevents you from writing to folder. More info: User Account Control - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia-

First check that folder is not "Write-only". Right click the folder -> "Properties" -> "General" and untick "Read-only" if it is on. Then set user priviledges in "security" tab.

As i have W7, here's a pic from Vista (i think) i found which might enlighten a bit:

also on vista, extract the client zips first, you will find highlighting them all with winrar and extracting will cause only server files to install because of folder overwrite with winrar.
