Pretty interesting, though there would be no point of having to deploy fake caches if all they can do is sit dumb and do nothing.

It's pretty easy to fake a cache, just by having a squad with a couple of RPGs and PKMs by a hidden FOB in the middle of some unsuspecting place shows activity of a possible cache, diverting their units into the fight thinking that there is a cache, once both caches are known then just divert the faking squad to the real cache.

As far as I know insurgents don't create cardboard RPG tubes, bend spoons to look like AK47 rounds, or leave half empty coke bottles laying around in hopes that soldiers wont find their real ones, provide a source and you might have an argument.

You don't set a fake CAR by example, in real scale....

I mean, if you deploy a cache, it wouldn't be "fake", it would be a real cache..... or you think that insurgents deploy gummy caches?

Feel free to look at this:

If you want the enemy to believe that the cache is on your posistion, just get some kits and keep running back to the same building, and hey presto, the blufor will automatically assume that building is the cache.

A clever insurgent team can keep the blufor guessing for hours where the caches are

It's indeed very well possible to defend a hideout or just some random building as if it was a cache. If it is at a plausible cache location, it might distract the enemy, and perhaps keep an APC busy for some time, giving the insurgent infantry the upper hand where the actual fighting takes place.

The problem with the "guessing blufor for hours" is that now cache's mark is between 20mts of the objective.......

So when you see a blue cache marker as blufor, go directly to that position and you will find the cache.......

This sucks, but........

How is it a "Fake" cache if you can actually rearm and get kits off it like a real cache.

I doubt that IRL insurgents would set up a real pile of weapons and ammo to discract BLUFOR forces from finding their other identical pile of weapons and ammo. :-P

If you want to make a fake cache, get an ammo technical, drop some ammo boxes away from the caches, set up and dogbox and engage enemies from there.

You can't ;)

What if it is just a spray (like a big picture of the cache) that you can drop on the ground (a kit that can drop it is at main, for example) and you must have at least 2 or 3 ammo boxes nearby to provide the material needed to print a banna that size?

This would be to divert an UAV's attention. Ie. you go under a hut. So it isn't obvious, just a VERY tiny part of the picture sticking out and the CO will think it's a cache until someone can get close enough to an IED to check it out.

Seriously, though, if this system was implemented, "fake caches", I wouldn't waste a single second of my time trying to make my way to a "suspected" cache. I would just be gunning down every enemy I see for intel. Odds are it's fake -,- So I'll just wait for real intel.
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

I just dont see how it is more economic to go and have to build an RPG warhead out of paper-mache than to stick a real one in a box (I.E, like a cache), also the red marker would remain so the diversion is temporary.

Not a good idea. While it may sound good on paper, ingame this would cause confusion and no one would play INS anymore. Anyway, Fake intel is a better idea.

Sorry I missread 1 important word.

I thought this
You couldn't reload from this fake cache...
was this
You could reload from this fake cache

I still think its unrealistic that insurgents would set up a fake pile of weapons though.

Another problem might be that you can't really set the cache up perfectly parallel to the building's walls it is in.

So if you saw a fake cache you could instanly tell what it is because it would be slightly turned.

It would be difficult do not make it spawn in a wall in the first place
