Kashan light helicopters suggestion.

Post by samogon100500 »

Hi I have 1 suggestion about Light Choppers
So,why not to make light AT choppers for both sides.
For USA - Kiowa with 7 rockets and 2 hellfires(Reqest hellfire's pylon model,but it's easy-made model)
For MEC - Gazelle with 4 9K14 Soviet made missiles(Already done)

Whats the point of it? Light choppers purpose is to scout and if needed take out the heavy attack helicopters like the Havoc or Apache. To add even more Hellfire-platforms would just kill the game IMO. Kashan is one of the best balanced and overdone maps in PR, so it should stay like it is.

When they "Scouting" they in 90% of time been shoot down cuz they "Don't see" AA(if they fly high) or Tank/APC(If fly low)
Anyway - thats choppers easy been shoot down by AA or HMG fire, why not to make some power for they.

In PR 0.95 I can say - "Scout chopper is just a Waste Tickets Machine".It's must be rearmed or removed IMO.

I see scout helicopters being used as they're supposed to more often now than it used to be before.

Since Thermals and the new much more effective Lasing system came in, being co-pilot became more interesting and useful as you could see more and spot better compared to the old days when we had to zoom in to know what it was and if it was hostile or not. Not sure if it's just me but 80% of the time I see scout heli pilots having co-pilots or even people asking to be co-pilot.

It's survival depends on how it's used and what intel is provided to it.
They don't get shot down 90% of the time because they're scouting, it's because they're not used or flown to way they're supposed to.

It's hard to find good pilots nowadays who use these kinds of choppers as they're supposed to.. For recon and not going around killing everything in sight feeling like kings of the battlefield and ignoring the team.

Doesn't Kashan have Kiowas? Because it had LBs in the last release.

^It has Kiowa's now.

I love the Idea of the gazelle, the co-pilot controls the missiles etc however Im not too sure it works too well on Kashan. It works awesome on Burning sands 32 and I would like to see it more MEC maps with asymmetric balance with the asset.

Actually - general idea to make non-guided missiles.Thats must be got Laser Target missiles.
For example:left click - set laser/right click launch missile on that laser or ground designated laser.
Anyway - they not so overpowered, that AH,but they can be get some power against enemy units and this units not only infantry.

Like the idea. Maybe only one hellfire though, to keep it from being an attack chopper. Y wasn't the Gazelle added in the last patch anyways?

I agree with samogon, keeping small choppers as scouts is crucial, i cringe every time i see a black hawk gunship - because it has 2 miniguns people automatically assume that yes it will make a great offensive weapon, then its shot down and were 20 mins with no transport.

with thermals, scout helicopters are actually being used as scout helicopters! why do we need to add more guns and vanillify it?

If you complain about the Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter, and think they should be change in Light Attack Helicopter, then there is something you realy dont got with the ARH, they arent made in an offensive purpose, they are made to gather intelligence leading-chain, designate target for Attack platform, and ultimatly in last resort defend itself with the weapon it carry.

I agree with the many others in this thread that kashan is fine as it is. Additionally your suggestion is about American equipment which is not allowed...
