[HELP] New Monitor Problems

Post by B.Olson[2DMAR] »

I found a nice 26'' flatscreen TV with a VGA connection in a relatives house, they said they weren't using it so I jumped at the chance.

I'm not sure on the brand but the logo on the front is a W. The problem is that when I try to launch PR, or any BF2 variant, the splash screen appears, the screen flashes a couple of times, tries to auto-adjust and then the game crashes to desktop. I can't seem to find any good fixes.

Does anyone have a similar problem? Will I have to reinstall BF2 every time I change my monitor???

And...try some other games and even try BF2...tell us if they work.

Go to My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles and find the Video.con that belongs to the profile you're using, then enter a resolution your monitor supports.

Also check that your refresh rate is not higher than the monitors (often 60 Hz)

My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles Video.con VideoSettings.setResolution 1920x1080@60Hz

make sure your screen is running at 60 htrz not 70 or 80, use your gfx card settings to force change it if possible.

Isnt 1360X768 a resolution you can natively choose in BF2 through the options menu?

Still doesn't help if BF2 tries to launch with a resolution the monitor can't support.

I don't know how to fix this but 1360x768 is a pretty low resolution for a 26" screen tbh. I got a 24" wide-screen resolution 1920x1080 are you sure it's the correct resolution? I think modern 26" LCD screens should have a resolution of 1920x1200.

In the propierties of pr shortcut add this:
"D:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 "+szx 1280 +szy 1024

Change underlined values for your windows resolution.
