So if I want a fair game then Im a noob lol? your points are flawed, a) iirc team switching is random, its based on who dies first gets switched b) admins almost never set the teams according to clans, what if the clan wants to split up and play each other to make it more interesting? who asked the admin to start switching? c) it makes people join teams without any bias (for example on a certain Muttrah server a clan always plays on one team and guess what everyone trys to go on that team cuz they think they will win). hell if you ask me I want clan tags so me and my friends go to the other team and fight the clan (which we always try to do)Zoddom wrote:no one forces you to not use clan tags. if you dont use them, you wont get teamswitched as easily as with clan tag. its much better for an admin to manage a team which uses clan tags, cause he knows who belongs to who.
if someones annoyed by clan tags then hes probably a total online shooter newbie, and then its totally normal.

Hey Ben - agreed. I have started messing around with SL'ing in Co-Op just to get a comfort level with the different radials, and I do think I am about ready to take the plunge on live. I just don't want to detract from other players experiences while I learn. I've been playing PR for a long while as well, so it will be a 'new' experienced player as well. Just hoping I get some patient and understanding people I can lead to death - erm, victory.BenHamish wrote:Canuck mate, we all prefer to be 'led' rather than lead, but look between your legs, recognise you have testicles, and behave accordingly.
I'm beginning to SL, as a 'newly' experienced player, and like everything else it just requires practise.

Main problem seems to be Sniperkit-trolls and people who don't communicate.
It's easy to micromanage, but I think the trick is to keep the leash long enough for individuals to work their magic, yet short enough for a cohesive team.
Building FOB's is a trick that i'm still getting the hang of, but it does get easier.
Don't be put off by idiots/dickheads. Most people won't heckle but might get bossy - They have chosen to follow, not lead, so they can shut up.
Have fun and cya in game!

Jumping into the deep end is the best way to learn. Better to SL and let your squad know you are new to it. Getting input from everyone on tactics and such will help speed up your progression and then you will know your style. If people can't be patient then they don't need to be in your squad.Canuck wrote:Hey Ben - agreed. Back on topic.
I love mumble, as do most of us. But what if the server doesn't have an active mumble channel? but rather it uses Ventrilo or Teamspeak? Will you still use it? Unlike mumble, Teamspeak and ventrilo do not need to be started BEFORE PR. Also with the number of playable servers in the community it would not be hard to bookmark each so that they're ready to be used once you join a new one.
I personally only play in 2 servers, =]H[= (Ventrilo) and TG (Mumble). I find that the members of these 2 communities understand the importance of team play and communication more than any other community out there. I also believe that this is the number one reason why these servers are full nearly all day and of course their outstanding admins. However =]H[= is full 24/7, which is where I am typically found.
As for you guys new to the SL position. Just remember that the superior SL will understand the message I am presenting here. Also to just dive into the deep end and learn it in the field (and after reading the manual for SL controls) is of major importance. Do not be discouraged by failures while learning. Know what you expect of your squaddies, inform them of what that is and take charge.
