Crash when using HDMI
I usually play on my 19" 1680x1050 monitor, but it broke, so I used an HDMI cable to connect to my 1280x720 rear-projector HDTV (its pretty old, but has an HDMI port).
However, when I open the game, its fine until I log in, then it CTD.
heres the process

"connecting to server" tag starts spinning
CTD. Every time.
I can play Mass Effect 1/2 and DA :O fine over HDMI, but WHY CAN'T I PLAY PR!!!!

Re: Crash when using HDMI
it might be something to do with the refresh rate although that usually crashes you earlier in the process.
check the refresh rate and go into your video.con in your profile in my documents and then change the refresh rate to the appropiate

Re: Crash when using HDMI
I know that there's been issues with running BF2 with DVI as well, so it's problary related.

Re: Crash when using HDMI
Maybe PR is trying to start the game in 1680x1050 and your TV obviously cant support that so it crashes. Have you changed the resolution in the PR menu?
known in-game as BOOMSNAPP

Actually, since it's a rear projection, it supports up to 1920x1080. But I tried in the documents->bf2->profile

Try with clearing the BF2 shader cache.

Re: Crash when using HDMI
I play with a 23" HDMI connection.
I had to fine adjust my resolution to fit the exact screen size in the nvidia control panel so it's somethong like 1860X1216, if VBF/PR wasn't exactly the same it crashed everytime.
To check make sure your video profiles and computer setting are the same.
