C4 hummers

Post by FatOne »

This thing happens mostly in Kokan, because Hummers are plenty.

US players attach c4's to the side of their hummers, drive them close to possible cache location and blow the hummer up. Corretly done this is an easy way to destroy cache, because as we all known c4 is powerfull enough to blow cache through walls.

I think this is an exploit and it ruins the game everytime some idiots starts doing it. While the whole c4 blowing cache through walls is stupid enough, this is even worse.

This has nothing to do with "reality". US army doing suicide missions, wasting hummers and other assets.

The DEVs have said that C4 should NOT be able to do damage to the caches through walls, and that they will fix this. Without this, C4 humvees will be completely useless. So, they will fix it.

Wow that's genius, attaching C4 to HMMWVs. Insta-ticket back.

But... what's the FUN in friggen rushing and destroying the HMMWV in the cache location? I prefer much more 2-men commando thingys. More tacticool.
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

Its not a ticket-back. In fact it's currently one of the best tactics in game to win as BLUFOR, if done with proper intel on where the cache actually is.

Even then its not really needed. The cache marker defines its location so accurately that often C4 has a 1/3 chance of getting the cache, lastnight on PRTA L4gi got a Blackhawk and was transported onto the roof of the cache, dropped C4 and blew it as we the Insurgents looked at it in despair knowing there was no way of stopping him.

Although at the current time it can be deemed a legit tactic, its something that needs to be fixed before the next client patch as Insurgency is once again becoming stupidly unbalanced.

Seriously? We're honestly back to straight from vbf2 tactics here? At least server admins are banning for this behavior, right?
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.

Funny how that came full circle huh? I remember "ghost riding" c4 loaded vanilla vehicles at just about any target bigger then a single infantry guy, takes a little practice to get the distance/timing down but its an insta-kill to anything in your way. Luckily when you jump out of a moving vehicle it kills you in PR.

Sad to see this has become effective yet again. :-(

Not unusual that L4gi would pull of something like that..

Luckily I've never observed anyone using that tactic, at least not yet. Good to hear it's beeing fixed.

Its still done to kill civilians in PR. Simply change positions in a Humvee when you're about to run them over.

Pretty much all servers ban for it though.

Do whatever it takes to win, right? Right?

:-|

Why do people try and look for every advantage, every loophole, every exploit to win? Sad, really.

Some have that mindset, others have it within reason - meaning giving the other team a fair go and playing with realistic intent.

I can't stand bending the rules or doing something silly like that. What's the point?

Some people value winning more than teamwork, it's just one of those things (and one of the reasons you have a # in your sig :P )

I heard it makes your **** bigger?

Joking aside I agree with you...
Sad in fact, you get an influx of non-reality players here that always don't like the mod, but instead of being mature and leave, they make issues on the forums and in game

Life isn't fair, we just have to accept that and frankly get over it

This issue, from what i have read is fixable.

YouTube - Golan Part 1 - UnitedOperations.net

watch the first minute of that video, to see my feelings on using humvees as anti-tank.

Yo this does not work anymore. The game now knows who was the last driver when the civy was ran over, so even if u switch seats before killing the civy, you still get punished.( it happened for me on one of the rare times I play for BLUFOR)

Some knobber used this technique in a server on Gaza the other night. Pain in the arse - They even sacrificed a Humvee to get the exact position of the cache first, then sent the C4 one in.
