MEC/Russian/Militia APCs
I hope this isn't covered by MAs - I don't think it would be (I'm not suggesting the addition of anything), but if it is I am eternally sorry and will break rocks for PR for the rest of my life.
Anyway, the suggestion is to shuffle the existing APC variants (these being the BTR-60PB, BTR-80, BTR-80A (with the 30mm AA gun), MT-LB, and the MT-LB with the BTR-80A turret) so that each army gets a unique vehicle. Currently, these vehicles are in use by the following armies/factions (ingame, that is):
Russia - BTR-80, BTR-80A, MT-LB
MEC - BTR-60PB, MT-LB, MT-LB AA Gun
Militia - BTR-60PB
We could shuffle them as such:
Russia - BTR-80, BTR-80A
MEC- MT-LB, MT-LB AA Gun
Militia - BTR-60PB
This has the disadvantage of reducing the overall number of vehicles per faction, but the advantage of significantly more unique factions - this especially helps reduce "MEC Retextured" syndrome that has been plaguing the Russian Federation faction for some time now. Plus, with the exceptions of the BRDM-2 and some aircraft, I think that when Russia gets the incoming BMP-2 and Mi-8, their army will be completely different from that of the Middle Eastern Coalition, which would be cool.
Thanks for reading.

Re: MEC/Russian/Militia APCs
Just a quick thing, I'm a little strapped for time, and can't put an elaborate, very constructive, post right now(might later on). But you mention that these factions should not be able to use certain vehicles just for the sake of uniqueness? I just find that to be little... not thought out. It would really limit the map-makers and the factions to those few vehicles, especially one a map where a different vehicle would be more appropriate.
You do know that the MT-LB can't be classed with the BTR-80/60 or even the BRDM, right? That, and supposedly both MEC and Russian Forces are supposed to be getting the BMP-2 (and maybe MEC will be getting the Mi-
from what I remember.
Anyways, that's all I got right now.

Re: MEC/Russian/Militia APCs
This is a topic for our MAs and what we have not is correct in terms of what the Russians, Middle East and the Militia would use in r/l.
Also the Russians do not use the "MT-LBM" in real life, or ingame, since its only made for the export market.
And as Zephyr said, each of thous above vehicles is pretty different and serves there own purpose, to keep things realistic we should be using them all together like we are.

No, they are too few of them, that why they are for MEC only[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:Also the Russians do not use the "MT-LBM" in real life, or ingame, since its only made for the export market.
Also in future simple MT-LB will be shifted into trucks niche, so don't really count it as APC.

Re: MEC/Russian/Militia APCs
MT-LBVMs with remotely-controlled 12.7mm machine gun are mostly Ukrainian things, not Russian, because idea of using remote control on AAMGs came from Morozov plant in Kharkov, Ukraine where they manufactured T-64 in USSR days. some of MT-LBVMs were sold in Eastern Europe, some to ME customers, that is why I say MT-LBM is not really Russian kind of thing.

If violence isn't the answer, then you obviously need more violence.

I think the OP was referring to the MT-LB with 30mm turret as the MT-LBM, not sure on what its real name is? But it was the one I was on about

Re: MEC/Russian/Militia APCs
Lets clear things a bit:
BMP-2 - RF
BMP-2M - MEC
MT-LB - anybody
MT-LB with NSVT HMG - anybody
MT-LB 6MB - 30mm cannon, MEC only, because almost non-existent in RF, wasnt used in conflicts(unlike NSVT version)

I didn't post this based on stuff being wrong in real life to be honest, it was related to having more unique factions...

Re: MEC/Russian/Militia APCs
Just asking, why does MEC get the "better" BMP-2? Is it cuz RF is gonna have both BMP-2 and BMP-3 and MEC only gets the BMP-2M?'[R-DEV wrote:DankE_SPB;1503085']Lets clear things a bit:

M is used for vehicles with 6MA, 6MB and other variants of that turret, which requires roof redesign. NSVT has another turret and installed onto the same spot simple MT-LB has its turret with PKT.[R-CON]Adriaan wrote:The MT-LB with NSVT HMG is the MT-LBVM right?
the V is used for versions with extra-wide tracks mostly, like this:

Re: MEC/Russian/Militia APCs
Regardless of what countries are limited realistically, they shouldn't be then limited to a certain group of vehicles simply so they become 'unique'. Having such a large pool of different vehicles allows the mapmaker alot more versatility in what they are trying to achieve with a certain map.
This is why Kozelsk is so fun to play, since the Russians get a BMP-3, MTLB's, BRDM's and BTR-80's spread across different layers.
