as a pure infantry player I can't understand armorguys complaining about this. it takes a long time to use a hat effectively, in which he's often easily spotted and neutralised and a lat doesn't do much to tanks. one hat hit often isn't a disaster either (tanks are almost indestructible!)

So if a guy wants a HAT he cannot spawn in on a FOB and get it, on a map like Wanda Shan what's he supposed to do, spawn @ main and solo a vehicle for miles and abandon it in the middle of nowhere?

Plus IMHO it is so rare that the HAT is available anyway.

Maybe just from APC's could be a better compromise?

I suggest that heavy kits like AT, AA, etc. can only be requested from the team's repair station back in their main base.
Absolutely not. Tanks and APCs are already reckless enough and disregard infantry support. This would add to that problem because if the anti tank infantry is made even scarcer for the conventional factions.

So what do you expect them to do.... sit back and do nothing or attack? plus the Inf can still request from apc thus meaning inf will support apc's more as they can get their kits easier.

Whiners whiners...

Are you afraid of actually being afraid of 120mm shell?, or 40mm HE?.

In PR you should be afraid of bullets let alone tanks.

Thats the point of a tank, it should force infantry/APC to GTFO or die, not just make the SL say :"I hear a tank , somebody grab HAT... Ok, now shoot him, hes down, what were we doing earlier?"

This, of course the amount of armour should be decresed on some maps for this to work nicly but I would lvoe to see this in action at least in a server side Beta (like rallies) and if this is possible or not.

The decrease in armour shouldnt be needed so much as both teams lose this capability, so firepower ratio stay the same. Dont forget that you can battle tanks with tanks and call in CAS and whatnot.

Are you serious Ploddit? :P In 0.95 hat is available all the time. There is rarely any situations when losing HAT kit hinders you, because you know location of it, and if you won't manage to get it it will be in pool 5 min later. :P

I think so as well. :P

The unwanted change of this will be that vehicles will be less frighten to engage, which is imo bad. They should be stronger, but crew should be afraid to die/loose vehicle.

Armor should be imo decreased as inf will have less opportunities to take them down, so they will just rape inf to get kills and good k/d and won't care about their lifes so much. :P

I think its a fair idea . . . except i dont know how effective it will become this would cause for more people to single man vehicles straight out of main leaving squads left behind to wait for a helicopter ride or APC . . . which doesnt always happen . . . but the crewman and pilot kits i think i agree with can only be requested from the vehicle its self . . .

Vehicles shoudnt befrightened to engage, thats why armour has so much armour on it. Infantry should be afraid to engage it.

Well by this I meant realistic behavior such as not risking your life and vehicle, not rushing before any troops moved and farm some kills in good spot as it happens and grab another apc/tank after you have been destroyed.

HALP! HALP! I haz enormoose amoonts of armer, can traveel across almoost any torain, extended viewing distances and zoom levels, 3 different weapons, explosive munitions, longest weapon ranges in the game, defense countermeasures, effectively immune to all but the most high explosive weaponory, nightvision + thermal... but its still not enough! i neeeeed MOOOORE of an advantage... MOOOOOOORE!!!

Seriously... armor whores... Sack up, and grow a pair of boots

(although kudos to limiting your enemy, instead of just adding more advantages onto yourself for once)

If a tank is killed by a HAT it is doing it wrong.

A good tank crew has situational awareness (let me just reinforce that)

You're getting into arbitrary ground. How does "2 supply crates within 50m" = Heavy Anti-Tank gear IRL?

Just like they could have a TOW built, they could have a HAT in use. Suck it up.

i made suggestion while ago about that more you have crates on fob,more strenght it has.

it was with limited spawns.
so with 2 crates you get fob,hmg,razorwire,foxholes and your team can spawn from fob maybe 20 times.

when you bring more crates to the fob,you can build more stuff and get more spawns.
so maybe you have to have 4 crates that you can build ammodepot to the fob where you can have HAT,LAT,AA...etc...
