Is there a way to get the CD key some other way? Iv been playing this game for a while now but recently i needed my motherboard replaced, and that seems to have messed things up.
Might get help from EA's official tech support. If you dont have the cd/dvd case but still have the cd/dvd itself you might have a chance, since as far as I know all dvd's and cd's have several ID codes embedded on the surface of the disk itself, so you can verify your copy.

If you have previously registered your battlefield 2 game with EA, you may go to Support Home Page and sign in using your classic(username) EA account, click on My Account, login there with EA classic account, click on my games, and under your pc ea games it will show every game registered to your account including cd key for pc titles.
Hey, thanks for the tip!

I bought BF2 a long time ago, but I eventually lost it, like so many other games you just forget to put back into the case. Anyways, very recently, I discovered project reality. Of course I couldn't play since I lost my copy, but thanks to your tip, I was able to recover my CD key, and I am now installing the game with an ISO. I just need to install the mod after, so see you folks very soon!

Hi,

This is a fantastic mod!

I bought BF2 many years ago and have since switched computers twice and lost my serial,
Is there anything I can do to play having lost my authentic serial?
Are there any PR servers that don't check for a serial or something like that?
Thank you very much for the help!

PaladinG,

P.S. Please don't call me a pirate, I aren't, I just don't want to buy the game twice :-(

Buying the game again where I live will be very difficult.

As I read the pages in this thread it seems that many people can't play the game even though they bought the game

Could you please remove the serial check, all the people with errors could play and we would get more people :D

Thank you,

This thread is quite old and some of the bugs have been fixed over the years.

Impossible. Please contact EA for that matter, its a BF2 not a PR thing.

As for your problem: The only thing I can tell you is: google. (as this topic is too (legally) hot for my taste)
Got a PROBLEM? Check this: PR:BF2 Installation Guide

Made a small app that allows you to re-enter your CD-key without having to mess around with the registry. Don't worry, I have better things to do than steal anyone's key. The app is 100% offline.

I had a similar problem. Just contact Electronic Arts customer support and they'll solve it. Worked for me  .

Register trick didn't work.
My problem is, when trying to join normal servers like NwA or some other server (usually the ones populated, with mumble channel), I get the cd-key error.
But, I can connect to both VBIOS servers.

I don't know what is causing the problem, it's a fresh install, and I've done uninstall/install tricks in v0.95 days with no success.
But then I was sometimes able to connect, but very rarely.

I'm now gonna try 1 more fix..
if it doesn't work, I'm getting very hopeless.

If I could join in the good servers, this game would be a beast! Now it's only epic ;)

My friend bought BF2 yesterday, but he bought the Complete Edition from Origin (yes I know, bad move). Dont know why he did it, probably he was too lazy to go to the next store or wait until it arrives when he would have bought it off amazon.

Anyway, he installed it and installed PR afterwards and as you can guess, he also gets an Invalid Key Error on 99% of the servers (actually he could join one chinese server, but his ping was horrible).

So we tried all these workarounds and fixes which are around the net and NONE of them worked.

We came to the conclusion that PR might not work with the Origin version of Battlefield?

ah and he has Vista 32-bit. dont ask, we tried everything from "run in administration mode" to the regristry stuff, nothing worked at all.
