this is a discussion, not a suggestion, because i know theres no way in hell the DEV's would implement this.

what do you guys think about only being able to get 1 kit per round? i.e. if you request the sniper kit, you can only request the sniper kit again, and cant request anything else. you can spawn rifleman, but cant get any other kit.

I like this idea but what I like even more is having people get one kit per round based on how much experience they have. Yes, I'm suggesting a ranking system and I know it would never be implemented :P

The problem with this idea, though is that it comes down to whoever joins the server first. That means the first joiners will be pilots and snipers and the late joiners will be stuck as something else, which wouldn't be fun/fair for a lot of people.

What if people leave the server? Would there be no pilots for half of the round? And what about squad leaders? Apart from that it's a nice idea.

No, I don't know how many times I would be on the ground as a grunt when all of a sudden there are no Helos in the air brining supplies, and I would move up and take on that role instead. You need to be a fast evolving soldier in the PR battlefield.

I love this. You should be able to change your optics as in acog/reflex, but other than that you should stay with your kit. If this was implemented that would mean the majority of players would be riflemen, which I think should be the case. It would be more realistic, riflemen don't randomly get promoted to SDM for no reason.

Like Myles said, the situations in PR change so quickly that having one special kit kinda limits the whole thing.

What if someone creates an Armor squad and are doing such a good job you could exchange that HAT kit for an AA kit?

Or if the opposing team owns in CQB, but lacks in long range weaponary? Get a marksman!

Maybe they have no more vehicle, but lots of trenged enemies? Swap that LAT for a Grenadier, I suppose.


I mean, this would open doors for "squad exchanges", know what I mean? Which I don't think would work a lot, because many people like to play with their buddies.

to remedy the people disconnecting or leaving....maybe a commander could promote or designate positions....instead of helo tards bum rushing and tking for tha choppa

no, if a man dies (disconnects) another soldier picks up the job. So if all of a sudden your AR gunner decides he's done for the day, then you'll need to wait for someone else to join the squad to get an AR, which is ridiculous.

Don't we already do this? We usually stay within a certain few kits through our entire game.

Though it essentially is already in place, what about a TeamFortress2 type kit system. Or where the amount of a certain kit or the number of heavy assets is limited by the server population and what is available. As more people join you can fill into the role. No more races to create a squad @ 1:30.

Can we have pre-made squads based on the map, the assets, and the server population, enterable solely by the needs of these criteria?

From an administrative stand point, this would pop servers faster, stop a great deal of bickering and strife, and get interesting games off the ground more often

Isn't it like that already (kits depends on server population)?

I don't know how pre-made squads setups would work. They might seem good on paper, but kinda hard to adapt to the changing situations...
